After 10 amazing years at HTB in London, Tim and Rachel Hughes are hugely excited to be embarking on a new chapter in Birmingham. Tim has been appointed Priest-in-charge for the parish of St. Luke’s, right in the city centre. In addition to the existing church a large building has also been acquired with a vision to reach out to students and young families. Their hope is that this will be a church to partner with others seeing God’s Kingdom come to the great city of Birmingham. Together Tim and Rachel feel honoured and excited to step out into something new. Please pray for them and the team as they prepare for this new adventure.

They will both remain at the heart of Worship Central and continue to lead the team. They feel even more envisioned than ever about equipping and empowering the church in the area of worship and creativity.

Below is the announcement from the Birmingham Diocese!

Announcement of new Priest-in-Charge for St Luke’s, Birmingham

We are delighted to announce that Tim Hughes has been appointed Priest-in-Charge of St Luke’s Parish in Birmingham city centre.

Tim is currently Director of Worship at Holy Trinity Brompton, an Anglican church in central London, and heads up Worship Central, an international worship training and resource centre.

His arrival at St Luke’s will also signal a new venture for the Church of England in Birmingham with the acquisition of an additional large building just off Broad Street. The vision is for a second church in this parish, which under Tim and his wife Rachel's leadership will reach out to students and young adults and become a resource for the wider ministry of the Church of England in Birmingham.

We will be recruiting a full-time ordained colleague to work alongside Tim in the parish, across the existing St Luke’s Church Centre and the new facility on Gas Street.

Having grown up in Birmingham, Tim and Rachel will be returning with their four children hoping to launch this new venture in Autumn 2015.

Please hold them in your prayers and make them really welcome as they settle into Birmingham life this Easter.

"I am delighted by the appointment of Tim Hughes as Priest-in-Charge at St Luke's in the City Centre. Tim and Rachel and their family have had an enormously fruitful time at HTB in London and we look forward to seeing all that God has in store for them here in Birmingham in the years to come."
The Rt Revd David Urquhart
Bishop of Birmingham
