That's really helpful. Could you expand a little more on the "one-one" part of the "three-one-one" rule? I get the 'three' being doing it 3 weeks in a row, but is it then one week off, one week on?
This is really helpful, I've been wondering about how to introduce new songs, and I'm worried I'm going to wrong way about it. I lead worship with my church's youth band, and we usually do one sunday a month. So it can be a bit difficult to make new songs stick. It can seem sometimes that the congrgation just sit and watch, as opposed to getting involved, which is what I want them to be doing. I want them to be feeling the song the way I feel it, when I sing the songs I really mean what I'm singing!
But then there's so many new ones I want to do, and when you only have one sunday a month to introduce new songs, it can be difficult to spread it out. I find two new songs out of 6 or 7 in the set is a good amount. You need a few tracks people know and can relate to so they can really be feeling the spirit - and I don't want to be taking away from their worship just so I can worship fresh in my own way.. It's just important to find a balance so you don't overuse the established songs, and not overwhelm people with new ones.
Worship Central's first ever UK Tour visited 9 cities across the UK, with over 8,000 worship leaders, musicians and worshippers gathering for the events.
