Just wondering if there are any under 18 worship leaders/musicians on here? Thought we could exchange names and share experiences and help each other to grow as young leaders.

3) I lead a youth worship band n we play every 2 months at an evening service in a church of people unused to what u might call 'modern worship'.

5) Yes Ali, we lost 3 people from our worship band to uni this year, all of whom had pretty major roles....we're now sort of stuck without a bassist and 2 worship leaders....well they all did multiple things, keys, bass, BV's, 2 of them led.........

3) Drummer/Percussionist in our church worship group and the youth band at another church, second pianist at our church, singer/guitarist out of church - would like to do that in church sometime but im not sure... i think i play the most intruments in our worship group! lol. Ooh and (hopefully) soon to be worship leader. When i'm on keys i'm kinda the one leading the worship, so yeh.

5) Any tips for getting worship leading experience outside of the 'normal' church setting? Anyone been to/hoping to go to Nexus? (www.nexustrust.co.uk) Anyone know of any other good colleges/unis for training worship leaders?

5) How do i persuade the other singers that, as the worship leader, they have to follow my lead, not just do whatever they want regardless?
Peter - how about telling them that your job as a worship team is to HELP the congregation in their worship, and if everyone is doing their own thing, people will get confused and not know where to go?

I have just looked at the site for Nexus and i gotta say it looks preti cool. Maybe a gap year thing being as i'm planning to stay on for 6th form. Are you yr11 too?

Yeh, year 11 at the moment. that's wat i was looking to do as well... 6th from at school and then take a gap year in whil i'll go to Nexus... then like Uni or something after that. =]
Came across Nexus at their stall in the Toolshed at Soul Survivor this year, and i'm really glad i did xD

I am dead jealous - i havent yet been to SS tho i really want to - our youth group already do a week long summer trip and they dont wanna do 2 a yr. luckily i have found some people who'll come with in 09 - c u there lol!
