Hi Guys Confession! I have fallen into the trap of looking for outward signs and judging worship! Just a thought, but do you think that worship can sometimes be abit like the X factor? You stand there in your sunday best or converse trainers if that how you do it. Paint a smile on, clap at the right time (sometimes?) and lift your hand at a certain place in a song (if the mood takes you). Then with trousers pulled up past the waist line you start to do your best Simon Cowell impression and judge the worship or the worship leader out of ten in your heart? I'm ashamed to say I have. :0( I am convinced that God does not judge the outward appearances (as we sometimes do?!?) Have a look when He chose David to be king. God is looking at the heart and has got a metaphorical ear to our chests, listening. Will our hearts worship Him in any and every circumstance of life, firstly, for who He is and for what He has done? How do we define good worship? I believe you can tell how good the worship is by the fruit that it produces in our lives and the lives around us. Are WE living lives marked out with peace and righteousness? Are we seeing people transformed? Is there evidence of the grace of God in both the 'receiving' and the 'giving out'? Are our sunday mornings the same as our monday mornings? Does our wives say 'That was good worship!' or the people closest to us? Bad worship produces bad fruit! Good worship cannot produce bad fruit. Only good fruit! (I'm sure it sounded better when Jesus said it?') Do we ask 'God did You enjoy the worship? Did it please you?' Please don't misunderstand me, I think we should practice our instruments and ask searching questions about how we serve the body of Christ but lets not move away from putting God FIRST in our worship. Let our hearts and lives be a pleasing aroma to bless our God!! mark c |

Mark
Worship where we are actually seen leading is like for me 10% of my worship. The other 90% is either behind closed doors like livin' a life that pleases God.
James 1:27
Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.
Romans 12:1-2
And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
