I'm sulking. This is what I desperately want to do but I have a husband, a 16yr old about to start A Levels and a mortguage and job.
Hubby has no job and hasnt had for 2 yrs so I have to work to support us.

But I want to apply for academy...
Oh to be young free and single again!

please apply a pinch of salt here!!

So... there has been loads of people on here asking about training.
Who is going to apply?

excuse my earlier grump... I'm just sad... it's something I would love to go do but cant!

I'm in your boat too Pauline, I'd absolutely love to do it but have just got married and have a mortgage. God's still got special, exciting stuff planned of us to tho :)

Course he has Rob.
I'm in a church and am really involved heading up both the worship and the Youth work - something very new for me.

Learning how to lead using PA. I've never used it before being in this church.
Learning how to train other people/ lead worship team meetings etc
Learning how to be a mentor to one of my youth who wants accountability.
Being involved in training up people to lead the morning services (ie the kinda front of house man who ties the worship leader and the preacher together)

It is really exciting actually... I frequently go see the leadership with suggestions expecting to be ignored or told I'm interfering (my misconception from prior experiences) to actually be listened to and have suggestions taken on board and acted upon. ie we now have a ministry team ready to receive people wanting prayer rather than people coming forward and feeling stupid cos noone is there to pray with them. The result being that loads more people are now coming forward for ministry. Hubby is very involved in that team and they are really encouraged how God is meeting people where they are at.

I think for someone just starting out in worship leading who has a calling and a heart for 'pastoring' a worship team the ACADEMY would be fab. I'm just a bit old and over involved in my own church and my family to be able to upsticks and take a year out.... BUT we can dream cant we!?

It looks pretty sweet to me! I'm caught up in a year at Nexus from September, but I have been looking at this for something to possibly do the year after.

does this oppertunity have a age limit, i didnt see that when i read it. i dont have any experience leading worship so my application would be rejected.

I would definitely apply for this if I lived closer to HTB.. the £3,500 isn't a problem but I know rent would be sky-high :-/
What an awesome opportunity though for those that are fortunate enough to go for it! I'm excited for those guys!!

Ooof... £3,500 a year?

for THE year, its a one year course, but still a lot of money for somehting that doesn't include accomadation, which is in london!! but for anyone who can i wish them the all thebest as this would obviously be an experience of a lifetime. :-)

love god. love life. love worship

You want accommodation included for £3500 a year? In London?? You've obviously never lived in London! It may seem like a lot but there are other one year leadership courses I've seen for a similar amount. HTB have obviously costed this out as best they can.
