Halao Christians-! I was reading the Bible and I saw that Paul and Peter wrote I read this is 1 Corinthians 14:34-40, 1 Timothy 2:8-15, and 1 Peter 3 |

This is an age-old argument that will probably never be resolved in our lifetime. One helpful resource I've found is the position paper that Columbus Vineyard released.

I'm not saying this is gospel, in fact, our church has a slightly different view, but this at least thorough and helpful.
It's a tricky subject! I know the confusion, especially when you compare those verses with Galatians 3:28 - "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus"
I think it's worth looking at why Peter and Paul would write such things (the paper Caleb put up a link to is quite helpful), and what they mean to us now....but I'm about as confused as you are!
Caleb - thanks for the link, it's quite helpful.
as has been mentioned, there are many different view on it, so I would suggest the first people to ask about this is your home church leadership. They are the ones that you have chosen to submit to so I'd see what they have to say on the matter.
jus thought i would add abit, the word for woman in greek is th same as wife. Also in that day and that culture woman were not allowed to read the texts, so therefore obviosly they wernt able to do any teaching due to lack of knowledge. But this is jus what i learnt on my theology course, if u want me to give you some notes, i would be more than happy to scan them and send them to you!
But i think the main thing to take in when reading those scriptures is the culture for which is was written
