It's March! Tim & Al become audio tour guides for the big London conference this month, listen to new song 'God Of All' by Ben Cantelon. Tim interviews Al exploring the key values of worship, followed by an arm wrestle!
Right, here are my bets, I reckon they will do songs from the following albums:
We Will Not Be Shaken - Matt Redman - saw him in Eastbourne couple of days ago and his new songs are really good.
Running After You - Ben Cantelon's new album
Maybe Bluetree's new album? - God of this City
The Bright Sadness - Charlie Hall
Senor Hughes and Al Gordon's new ones, Jesus Saves, Glory in the Highest etc..
Life Light Up - Christy Nockel's new album.
I just kinda hope it's not a Hillsong-fest like it was last year apparently (I couldn't make it personally), not that that is a bad thing, I'm just not particuarly inclined towards the Hillsong style myself.
Anyone else want to have any guesses?
I reckon that some songs off the new Hillsong album will be played. The response to "Your Name High" last year was huge so i'm edging my bets and guessing that Houston and the crews new material will be used alot :)
"TOMA TOMALO!"
Ben's New album, the whole thing :P
I kid. God of all, they did it when I last went to SS Watford, was awesome. I loved it. Also some of Tim's new album. WOOOAAAAHHH will be a big feature again I'm sure..........
will be interesting to see what they do. i assume the worship leaders will be sam p, andy a, beth c, ben c and maybe tim? only ben (and tim) has really written songs out of them (although they may be writing songs more now?) so im tempted to say lots of hillsong plus lots of bens new album, but their might be some surprises aswell, it depends if tim is leading again this yr?
i would love to hear some off the compassionart cd, but shucks its not about what i want!
ps anyone heard lincoln brewster/paul baloches song 'today is the day'? its awesome!
cheers,
gav.
Yeah, looks like the worship leaders will be: Ben C, Beth C, Andy A and Sam P and 'guests' apparently, but can't be certain until the programme comes out.
I'm going to Week C this year so I might see some of you down there.
I think it will be a real mixture to be honest like it is most years, bit of everything, probably the odd hymn or old school worship song in there as well. Probably more Hillsong stuff though, as you said Gavin, 'Your Name High' was well-recieved last year so they will more than likely include more of the same.
It would be good if they did some Compassionart songs, 'King of Wonders' springs to mind as a good one to use.
I don't think Tim is leading at Soul Survivor this year (maybe Week C?), he's leading at Momentum, according to their website.
Today is the Day is pretty good isn't it. :)
Take care everyone,
God Bless,
Jonathan.
which ones did they do then?
'Jesus saves' Tim Hughes
'Youre beautiful' Phil Wickham
'Not ashamed' Ben Cantellon
'Remain' Ben Cantellon
what others?
hey gav,
yep, all of the above were used fairly regularly
i think it would be a fair bet to bank on the album being called 'woah-woah'!! :-)
they also did
'Coming Back' - Ben Cantelon
'You Alone Can Rescue' - Matt Redman
'Adoration' - Brenton Brown
'Cannons' - also by Phil Wickham (chorus starts with 'You are Holy, great and mighty, the moon and the stars declare who You are, I'm so unworthy, but still You love me, forever my heart will sing of how great You are)....awesome words
'He Loves Us' - John Mark McMillan/Kim Walker (just the chorus of this though)
29th Chapter also did their thing on Because of Your Love, which was actually pretty good.
The great thing about the week was they had a 17 year old from New Zealand called Tom Field, and a 15 year old called Jamie from Watford both lead on their own and then together. Obviously, it was a big pressure (God TV) too, and they'll have loads of stuff to learn from it, but they did fantastically well, and it shows so much about Soul Survivor's heart to build up and invest in young leaders. They'll have a lot of support and investment from the guys, and it was so great to see young people leading predominantly younger people
nice one sim thanks for the inside info!
i didnt go but watched a lot of it on youtube, i missed the god tv slots aswell, gutted as it sounded amazing. brilliant that younger guys are leading yeh, wow 15! im so jealous!!
my churches youth group went and had a brilliant time by the sounds.
God bless,
Gav.
Anyone have any idea why Sam Parker didn't lead this year?
I thought Jamie was awesome he had such a mature voice for a 15 year old, MIke teased him wrotten though lol, `has your voice broken yet?` `isnt that guitar a bit big for you`. he handled it very well though.
The whole week was amazing though really inspirational.
they also did you're beautiful by Phil wickham, which is on the album cannons, which is on itunes, seriously atleast get the song 79p is a bargain!! They did your name high a couple of times, this is our God, songs like that.

On the july podcast they said coming back- Ben Cantelon would be used at the festivals, there might be some compassionart songs too?
