Hi Wayne.
Awesome song!!
Would it make more sense and cause less theological confusion to change the first lines to
Dm Am C
Your kingdom will still be standing
Dm
Long after this age has past?
----
Hope to see you again soon mate.

Chrissy Sideburn - You're a GENIUS mate!! Yeah - let's hook up already.
lol I've not been called sideburn for years, quality!!
I'll drop you a text soon mate.
Phew Chrissy - after I'd posted that (and was sitting in a meeting with no access to my mac) I suddenly thought how that might be the greatest insult and cause of offense to you - or that you'd been called that as a kid and it had emotionally scarred you and you'd only JUST got out of years of very expensive therapy over it. It's a beautiful name mate - and a most beautiful thing.
Yeah yeah drop me a line.
Your kingdom will still be standing
(when) It's rivals have come and gone
Then pain and tears are wiped from our eyes
We'll see you face to face
Would be another suggestion, though needs and extra syllable in the second line.
PS Wayne I'm at International Christian College in Glasgow. Top place!
Cheers guys
Hey Blair,
Didn't have a specific scripture other than Ephesians 6:13 (Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm).
This song is very much a response to the times we're living in where it seems things are getting harder and harder for Christians to freely stand up for what we believe (ok - lemme be fair here, it's getting harder for us in the WESTERN world . . . it's always been difficult for some others in other parts of the world) In the UK our society has become so Politically correct to the point where Christians are slowly being silenced (or that seems to be the intention anyway). In some respects it makes sense that things are going to get worse before they get better and all this is simply signs of the times. This song is an exhortation for us to stand firm and to make a stand - but not one based on "standing for our RIGHTS" but one based on "standing in HIS love". Hope that all makes sense
And btw - cheers for the very kind words at the end - for the record, there is an ep available and will be out on iTunes real soon. I'll keep you posted if you like. Cheers again for the feedback
Wayne
nice work wayne, great great song again.
terrific recording, i dont think its really a congregational song as its not that easy to pick up straight away, coudl work well as a performance piece to listen to tho.
paul etc have give you some good ideas.
my only other thoughts is i wonder if "heaven in our sights" would be a better line than in our eyes?
God bless,
Gav.
Hey GavBall - cheers for that mate. And hey, cheers for being such a great feedbacker on this forum. You rock mate.
W
