Hey, this is a new song that I've been working on over the past couple of months... it's basically a cry for the church to get hold of to pray for more of what God is doing... a cry that we would see more of His glory, more of His mercy and justice, more restoration, more salvation - more of His kingdom coming here on earth... Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Lyrics are as follows:
CHRIS GREENHALGH - MORE
Verse 1:
Salvation's appeared to the people of earth
Now let the lost return
Redemption has come for the prodigal son
Lord, let Your kingdom come
We believe in a God who saves
We rejoice in Your glorious name
Verse 2:
Your glory has fallen here on the earth
Christ in the darkness shines
Blind eyes be opened, dead men be raised
Lord, shine Your light through us
We will trust in the power of Christ
We will live in Your risen life
Chorus:
We want to see more of Your glory
More of Your mercy
More of Your justice, God
We're praying for more restoration
More salvation
More of Your kingdom come
We want to see more
Verse 3:
Your Spirit is dwelling deep in our hearts
Burning for all to see
We pray for revival, we pray for the lost
Stir up our hearts, oh God
Bridge:
We won't hold back nor be afraid
We won't give up nor be ashamed
But we will run until that day
When every tongue voices Your praise

hey chris...great job! i like the theme a lot. your voice, melody and meter are really strong. i would maybe dig a little deeper musically....work on a musical hook / riff in the intros and between chorus and verses. maybe some harmonies in the chorus too. but overall the arrangement is really solid. good stuff dude. be encouraged.

Thanks Jeramy - I really appreciate your comments! I have actually been working on an electric guitar riff for the intro/in between bits this morning.. still tweaking it a bit (one attempt sounded way too cheesy, another was too complex), but I think it's nearly there... :)
Harmonies on the chorus is my next big task, along with some subtle background strings I reckon... I'm still getting to grips with ProTools!!
Hey, I have now updated the recording of this song (now attached to this post) - hope that gives a better gist of what I'm after!
This is a good song. Very congregational friendly. The hook you added to the intro and in-betweens works great. Keep it up. Well done!
Thanks for your encouragement, Ben. I really appreciate it... I'm looking to add some harmonies and backing vocals at some point too (to add something more to the chorus), but I've just had to send my ProTools box back to get it repaired so won't be for a while!
