Hey all,
I'm a Catholic and have found it hard to use new stuff at a parish level as folk react badly when the trusted hymn-book isn't in play!
This song was written (almost in frustration) as a bridge between the organ led 1-4-5 hymns that are second nature, and the driven guitar songs of contempoary worship.
Has been played big as a liturgy starter, or soft for intimate worship or communion etc. Particularly useful before adoration (Catholic practice) or in Advent.

It look's like you don't have Adobe Flash Player installed. Get it now.

This is great! The simplicity of the song makes it not only incredibly memorable, but easy to sing and easy to pick up.
The onyl comment I would have is that maybe you should change the verse that says "we have come to meet Him" to "We have come to meet You" as sometimes it can be strange to change from singing about God in the verse to singing to Him in the chorus.
I love the tune and the words though. I am impressed, any chance you could put the chords up. (I'm lazy and don't want to have to work them out!)
Cheers,
Alex

Thanks Alex,
Good point on the Him/You front. My thinking was in using it in initially as a gathering song - the congregation stating their intentions together, common purpose etc. before turning to God together... either way!
Here's the chords: http://www.liamlynchmusic.com/wehavecome.pdf
Thanks again,

Hey Liam
Great to have you on here, My wife is Catholic and is a passionate worshipper too and too gets frustrated also with just the hymn book!
The chorus is great! really simple and powerful and the tune is great and exactly the type of song to introduce.
the only thing is does the verse sound a bit like Al Gordon's "how long?"
Great work!
Blessings
Chris.
Hi Liam
Love the atmospheric intro and organs coming in at the end.
I think this is one of those songs that serves a specific purpose (I think you hint at this). Its really easy to get the hang of and is a nice little song to get into a vibe with.
Not sure I'd change much but I'd agree with Chris that there is a hint of "How Long" in there somewhere and maybe you could work on tweaking the melody a bit to rule out any comparisons.
Nice work though.
James
Thanks Chris & James,
I googled 'How Long' which brought me back to the new songs pages here and I'd have to agree with the comparisons. When writing it, it originally sounded like 'This little light of mine' with the 12-bar-esque style verse - I just can't get away from the similies!
Cheers,
Liam
:D :D
Looking forward to hear some more songs from you, i think you have a gift.
Is this the liam i met at a soul survivor music practice not long ago with sam? It just made me wonder coz your a guitarist and one of your churches is SSWatford! Anyway to the point, sounds awesome, it keeps cutting out about a minute into it, but from what i can hear really well done :-)

Hey Nick,
One and the same Liam here.
I've found that the media player quite often cuts out after a bit when using IE for some reason. I've found that Firefox is a touch more reliable.
Hope you're well.
Liam
