We Are Saved (First Draft)

Here is another hot off the press song still in development: Like all such songs I suspect I will have to live with it for a while to get it right but any comments from you guys would be really useful in helping me hone it.

I had recorded the vocals and acoustic guitar with a different feel a couple of weeks ago but I decided to completely re-do it last night with a different arrangement - It needs some cleaning up and proper mixing and I have already thought of a different ending - but there is of course no limit to the time one can spend on such things and as I can only seem to manage a night a week right now, this will have to do. By the way, the key is chosen for the recording - when I tried this with our worship band we dropped it to G Major.

The theme is one we have touched on in the forum of God's saving power being something that is an ongoing process in our daily lives. Hope you like...

Hey Murray!

I like the song, its catchy and a nice melody line. I like that it has a personality; which I’m sure is owed to your style. Its nice!

For the following bit, maybe “May we live our lives for you” may be more encompassing? That line may roll of the tongue a tad easier too? Just a thought.
C G/B
In all we do
. Am D/F#
May we work as if for you

The line below may indicate we are saved by works? I know its not your intent and definitely not a blatant statement, just thought I’d point it out for you to consider.
. Em Bm C D
As we chose to turn around and change our ways
. G
We are saved

Good stuff! Do keep it up!
