Hi everyone, I haven't posted on here for a long time, but I now have a song that I think has something going for it so I would love to know what you all think!
Excuse the poor recording, with background noise, and foot stamping (which I thought had a nice effect, but I'm not so sure everyone will think that)
The song I have currently named 'the God who'... and it comes from a place of knowing you have focused on earthly things and not been so good at the upkeep of your relationship with God, but once again getting lost in worship of Him and being moved to offer yourself up afresh...

I really love the melodies throughout this song. Nice work! I think the pre-chorus could be a bit shorter and I agree with Becky that you don't need 2 bridges.

Thanks both, it's good to know that mostly it is a strong song, and I will definitely work on those things, I have been playing around with a slightly different bridge, and cut one of the bridges to use for another idea :)

good song idea here, heartfelt and clear.
just a couple of thoughts, the first line i think you mean sight not site (as in building site!).
also the chorus has a lot of use of the word 'me' any way of mixing that up to give some more variety?

Hi Jay, thanks for sharing this, it's a really honest song and looks like it comes from a real place. Nice tune and chilled out, could work as a ministry time song or on a cd (but probably not congregational? what do you think?) It also tells a story, as in it takes the singer from fresh revelation of how great God is, to realising what an idiot they've been in valuing other things higher than him, to offering their lives again - great! There are a couple of minor things I think you could make better -
1) the first line sounds quite literal, like you've seen God physically in front of you (not saying God can't do that, just that most people won't be able to relate to it). sorry, can't think of a way to phrase it better! Only thing I thought of was 'Holy Spirit of life, you've re-opened my eyes to the God who once...' but that does make the rest of the verse confusing as to which member of the trinity you're singing to and in what person!
2) the 1st and 3rd lines of the chorus have good lyrics and melody, the lines in between are less strong. Maybe have a play around?
3) I don't think you really need a bridge, or even two - the song's fine as it is, and if it was going to be used as a kind of ministry song you don't want to make it too complicated, the simpler the better.
They're just suggestions, take or leave! Hopefully at least one is helpful :O)
