Hey all, at the church I go to in southampton called Bitterne Parish Lep there are hardly any youth left, most of them go out of the service to help with the sunday school like i used to but i felt left out so i gave up. Me & Penny who are in the worship band are the only two teenagers left in the service after that.... any suggestions?? we could do with some more people....

hi there,

that sounds tough. youth work and keeping the youth interested in church is one of the hardest things out there.

i would begin by praying about it lots.

then speak to your church leaders and see if they have any ideas of how to encourage the young people and involve them more. try and include some songs they will relate to in the services if you dont already. maybe try and have some social outings with them aswell?

God bless,
Gav.

You could try introducing a newer song, and then playing it every week for a little while so the congregation can learn it. After then, you can use it less often and hopefully they'll know it when you next sing it!
