Song: SPEAK TO ME by Pembu

Hi everyone

Attached is a song called ' Speak to me' that I wrote in 2009 during a time I was quite confused about life, having come out of a breakup and when I was facing up to a lot of decisions that I needed to make regarding my past, the present (at the time) and the future.

My prayer was that God, by the Holy Spirit, would speak to me.. whether in the quietness of my room, or in the noisy Praise of a Sunday worship service, whether in the good times ...or in the painful times ..

Well, he is faithful and he did speak to me to bring clarity, to show me where to go and what to do ..

Please (easy on me! ) feel free to criticise the lyrics, melody and/or the arrangement of the song..It's the first time I have uploaded anything here so any feedback will be helpful

Be Blessed

SPEAK TO ME

VERSE

Speak to me, in the quiet
Speak to me, in the noise
Holy Spirit, speak to me
in a sweet, tender voice

Holy Spirit, guiding me
Show me where.. I ought to go
giving me, your direction
Holy Spirit, speak to me

CHORUS

Speak to me, help me listen
Speak to me, help me see
Speak to me, show your power
Speak to me

VERSE

Speak to me, in the good times
Speak to me, through the pain
by your Spirit, speak to me
in a sweet tender voice

I lean on you, you’re my fortress
I trust in you, Deliverer
I long for you, Holy Spirit
More of you, Speak to me

It look's like you don't have Adobe Flash Player installed. Get it now.

I feel like the "I lean on You, you're my fortress" part should rise like a bridge.

Seems like some times you are not sure of the melody you are going for. My friend really challenged me on that a while ago, and pushed me to really know the note I was going for.

I applaud you tackling a song about the holy spirit. Unfortunately we don't comment on it enough.

thanks for your feedback Matt

..yes..I think I feel like the melody repeats itself quite a bit throughout the song..at which parts would you suggest it changes to something else ..

Yes..we do need to hear what the Lord is saying in a lot of situations..

thanks again
