Hey guys,
It's been ages since I last came unto the site and I wish I could say that I've been writing new stuff all the time. I happened to come across a song book I wrote whilst in uni and I was surprised to see songs I had written from way back then, lots of good starts but never completed. So here's one that I've been re-working. I love some aspects of it but feel like i've reached the point where I could benefit from some feedback to move forwards.
Let me know what you think, please.
Eli
I've added another version of the same song, tweeked the lyrics as well. Please let me know what you think!
Version 1
Who is like you Lord
Can they not see
From the rising sun
Your grace sets us free
Burdened by the foreboding stench of what could be
Weighted down by fear
laying everything bare
Chorus
You tell me to take your yoke
For you are gentle and humble in heart
Your yoke is easy and your burden is light
In my weakness, show your might
Bridge
I have heard you
I have answered
Arms outstretched and face lifted up
I let go of these familiar weights
and rise upwards through those pearly gates
Version 2
Tired and worn out
caught by the fallout of our pain
You ask us to come out
And you'll heal us once again
Chorus
Walk and listen
see the unforced rhythms of your grace
There is nothing that compares
to live freely in your grace
Chorus
