Hi I just thought I would share my latest song with you. It is titled Product of you I will quickly where the song came from.
I have 1 year of studying left at University in Edinburgh and it was while I was at University the initial inspiration came. I saw some grafitti and it said "I don't wan't to be a product of my environment, but I want my environment to be a product of me!"
This triggered all sorts inside me and really got me excited. We are created in God's image and we are products of God's grace and mercy. This means as we are products of God we have the opportunity to reach out to our environment and make our world a product of our God. I do not want to live in a world which is pulling me down but I want to make an impact on this world by proclaiming God's name to the lost.

I think its a really good story and very worthy topic for a song which the church is lacking but I find the term "product of you" quite sterile and corporate and not the sort of phrase I would bring to worship at the church I attend. I love the chorus though really catchy got well into it. Do the two verses sound the same? Because I found the second line to each one completely different. Again I think the bridge is something that should be key to the church at large but I find the phrase odd. So really sorry it sounds like I don't like the song at its deepest essence but I really do I just can't get my head round the phrase.

I agree with Matt above, the phrase "A product of you" just makes me think of Math lessons and that's not what should be the focus during worship. Perhaps you could sing about being "a part of you (Jesus)" instead of being a "product of you" in the chorus, but that wouldn't help at all in the bridge. I think you've got some brilliant work here, I particularly like the scripture reference in verse two, the parable of the lamp is one of my favorites, and I think you could safely leave the verses as they are. However I strongly suggest re-writing the bridge and tweaking the chorus to get rid of that phrase.
But I still think this is a brilliant song! Well done :-)

Hi guys thanks for the comments. Did you manage to listen to it? My computer won't allow it to play but on the other hand it does allow other songs to play.
Yeah I found it hard to think of me playing this song in my church as opposed to some others but when I listen to it, my heart is stirred to talk about what God has actually done for me and in me. This is where I had this song placed but any suggestions on changin parts etc would be great like above.
