"Bigger and better!"- OUR GOD!

Here is a song that I recently wrote. Any ideas? Is the tune singable for congregations? Words theologically accurate and edifying? Could you use it to worship? It's written for the UK conference called Ablaze happened this summer in Swansea with the theme 'Increase'. Let me know comments please :) [Please follow words below like Karaoke and when listening to demo track bear in mind it was recorded by me and a friend in 2 hours from cold and having to improvise bass and drum parts as neither of us play!!] Bigger and Better Bigger and better, the God who made all things Bigger and better, God everywhere Greater and stronger, the power God works in us Greater and stronger, the God who cares. We are blessed with God’s presence He loves and saves and frees. Now we claim His promises of harvest and increase. Chorus It’s only through Your grace we’re alive It’s only through Your love we survive Life’s all because of You To love and worship You It’s You, You, You! It’s only in You lives find success It’s only in You nations are blessed So let Your blessings pour Increase Your church here more All for You Lord! Truer and deeper, the hope God gives to us Truer and deeper, His loves embrace. Freer and fuller, the peace God fills us with Freer and fuller, His joy and grace. [bridge] Lift our humbled hearts, strengthen what is weak, Lord of the harvest bring increase. It’s only through Your grace we’re alive It’s only through Your love we survive Life’s all because of You To love and worship You It’s You, You, You! It’s only in You lives find success It’s only in You nations are blessed So let Your blessings pour Increase Your church here more All for You Lord!

I think this is a really great song. It's not easy writing an upbeat praise song but this was good. I like the way that there's a strong, consistent theme throughout the song. The chorus in particular is strong and catchy and I can see a congregation easily picking up and enjoying the song. The only thing I suggest as an improvement is that some of the lyrics don't quite flow with the melody. For example, 'let your church increase here more' sounds a bit untidy in a musical sense - there's too many syllables and words in one sentence. Otherwise, great job!
#Thank you 'lovetoworship'! Same comments have been made to me time and again now and I knew they would be made about lyrics at end of chorus as I've struggled and altered them so many times already! I'd like to keep the meaning to put the rest of song in context, ie that God's blessings are in order to bring praise etc to Him. Any ideas will be gratefully recieved!!
hi there, great start at this, i will listen to it when i get home from work. the first thing that i wonder is you say hes 'bigger and better' but bigger and better than what? a cheese sandwich?!! sorry to be cheeky but its a bit vague at the mo. also 'now we claim his promises of harvest and increase' which promises are you referring to? keep working on it, you might want to check them with some of the leaders of the conference aswell to see what they think. God bless, gav.
Bigger and better than everything really Gav so it doesn't really matter what you compare God to!! I had similar concerns that this lyrical tool might be a bit wishy washy but actually I think coz it's about God it might be the only occassion it actually doesn't need to be justified. Let me know anyway. The song has been checked with some elders etc and so far I've had a positive response except as I said about penultimate line of chorus. As I am the leading worship/ music guy in church though, maybe the more lyrical/musiccy/ creative side of he song writing won't be critiqued too much by people in fellowships I know. Thats why I've put it on here. The idea of claiming God's promises of harvest and increase is taken from a few biblical passages: Psalm67v7:where God promises to bless as we praise Him Malaci3v6-12 : where God promises to pour out His blessings on those that are faithful to Him and don't withold what is rightfully His Matthew 7v7: where we are encouraged to keep seeking God, knocking on His door, asking and it will be given to us Mathew 16v18:where Jesus says that He will build His church 1Corinthians 3v7:where Paul talks about us sewing etc but God grows the harvest
