Part-Time Worship Pastor Position
No replies
Hi all, we are looking to employ a part-time worship pastor in Tunbridge Wells, more here. For the past 18 months, my wife and I have been heading up the worship team at our local church in Tunbridge Wells. It's a great church, which has experienced amazing renewal in the past few years following a change of leadership and substantial growth. It has all the great things about a local church - a wide demographic (including a good number of young professionals / 20s and 30s), a passion for the things of God and for seeing transformation of the local community combined with plenty of opportunity to get involved and make a discernible difference on the ground. In terms of the worship team, Mairi and I have been running things for a while, and in that time, things have really moved along, which we think has been partly due to a very supportive church leadership. The team is growing, with a number of professional musicians of high calibre, and a good string section. There is a great level of commitment and dedication across the board and the team as a whole is passionate about both pursuing musical excellence and about seeing people released in authentic worship. We generally do a mix of songs, including the latest songs and fresh arrangements of hymns and golden oldies. We are also really interested in fresh expressions of worship, and frequently have services devoted to prophetic worship, and enjoy homegrown songwriting talent which is nurtured and encouraged. We have also recently begun to update the sound system, with new monitors, new FOH amp and subs. It's an incredibly rewarding place to lead worship, and see people really able to engage and grow - some for the first time. It is because of exciting developments in the church and the w. team that we are now searching for a worship director who can take things to the next level (and dedicate more time than either Mairi or I have been able to with our work schedules and other commitments). Tunbridge Wells is a lovely town; there are loads of arty types living here, as well as strong links with London (because of the easy commute) and, to the South, it's easy to get to Brighton and the coast. It is a great place to move to from London, as we have found, having made the move ourselves 4.5 years ago. I've attached the ad for the post, but it seems to be really small. Please email me at tneevesmail@mac.com or Ron at secretary@crossandcrown.org.uk, and we can pass on details. Best Wishes, Tim & Mairi Neeves
