I know people have a love/hate relationship with PA kit and everyone has their own personal favourites but I share this as it may be some use. I've been using Mackie SRM450s for a while now - taking them to beatbox gigs, schools, etc. I recently set them up in our Victorian CofE church building but they lacked oomph and I wanted to push more air and fill the space. I looked into all sorts of options - including new sound systems - bud in the end I purchased a pair of the Mackie 1501 subs. I have to say that the resulting sound is fantastic and has far exceeded my expectations. So, for well under a couple of grand, I have a great sounding system that is also portable. Retailers are selling off the Mk1 SRM450s and you can get some great deals at the moment. |
