New Song 'Faithful God' - Let me know your thoughts.

Hi All, I wrote this song a little while back with some help from some friends. Done it in church quite a bit. I really wanted to write a song focussing on God' faithfulness and unchanging nature..We've just done a demo recording. Like to know what you think... Faithful God From eternity past, To the day you return, You are faithful. In the darkest of nights, Through the brightest of days You are faithful. In everything You're God and you are good You are faithful In all your ways You are faithful You never change You're a faithful God. I will trust you All my days I will praise you Forever and say You're a faithful, faithful God Never ceasing to give Everything that I need My provider. With compassion you pour Grace and mercy on me My provider. With confidence, I stand on your alone. Tag: From generation to generation you endure From everlasting to everlasting you are God. (C) A Spens 2010

A really nice, catchy song! Immediately appealing, easy to pick up and the lyrics contain a simple truth that is easy to forget.
Hi Andy, lyrically this is strong, well put together and consistent in its theme. Musically I think it's a superb example of how to write a simple, strong congregational melody, really well done. I can imagine people singing along before they've even heard the song once! Just one point stood out to me - in the chorus the emphases go: you are FAITHful in ALL your ways you are FAITHful YOU never change with the CAPS words being the first beat of the bar - it would seem to me to make more sense to make line 4 exactly the same as line 2: you are FAITHful in ALL your ways you are FAITHful you NEV-er change does that make sense? That was the only thing that made me trip over in singing it, otherwise this is excellent. God bless Matt

I really like it!!!!!!!!! Personally though (I'm only 15 so you don't have to take my advice as I don't have much experience) I would speed it up a bit and also add in an extra bar before going into the chorus as it seems a bit rushed.
Guys. Thanks for the comments - Matt I understand what you're saying about the empasis.. will change that. Really helpful
That's an amazing song! :) Really great chorus and great rhythm throughout, it feels like a song I want to stand up and join in with! :)

so simple and AMAZING!!!!!!!!! loving it!
love god. love life. love worship
Hi Andy - nice solid song! I know you have done this with your church already so you have already worked out your arrangement, but I found the beat the through chorus made it feel a bit awkward for me. I love the melody of the chorus when you drop down to just the vocal after the bridge - have you tried using a straighter beat - like what you play in the bridge - through the chorus? Just a thought = )
