Here's a mission song I wrote to encourage evangelism.
LET YOUR KINGDOM COME
(KINGDOM GLORY)
D
Father let Your kingdom come
G
Father let Your will be done on earth
D
As it is in the heavens
D
Jesus let Your mercy flow
G
Jesus flood our hearts with love and grace
D
As we reach out to others
Em G D
Spirit let the river of justice roll
Em G A
and Your righteousness an unfailing stream.
D G A
You are the Father to the fatherless
D G A
You are the healer of our wounds
D G A G A
You called us out of darkness into Your Glorious light.
D G A
We have to tell the world about You.
D G A
We can’t contain this Joy inside.
D G A G A
We want to see Your kingdom and glory.
G A G A (D)
Heavens Glory, Your Kingdom Glory.
I wrote it in E put I haven't got the voice to pull it off so I took it down to a D.
nice start on this one good topic well explained. we need to sing more songs about this subject.
for me there are a couple of things you could change to make the song even better.
firstly, the chrous is too long. at the moment the 'hook' of the chorus is lost because i think youre trying to say too much.
you could make a second verse out of some of the chorus lyrics and make the title 'let your kingdom come' stand out more by repeating it a few times in the chrous.
also the line, 'we have to tell others' seems a bit negative almost like a guilty thing. if you said we will tell others or something like that it would put a more positive spin on reaching out.
I quite like the lengthy chorus :) I think where it sounds a bit too much is on the "heaven's glory, Your Kingdom glory" repeating, personally I would go for...
You are the Father to the fatherless
You are the healer of our wounds
You called us out of darkness
Into Your Glorious light.
We have to tell the world about You.
We can’t contain this Joy inside.
We want to see Your kingdom come,
Let Your kingdom come
If i get chance today I'll try and record it and show you what I mean
Great song and as Gav said great topic plus I really like the melody.
It is intresting how the line 'we have to tell the world about you' has communicated to you. In context of the chorus it is because of the overwhelming joy we have. I was trying to communicate that joy is the motivation not guilt, fear or duty. A sort of, when you have got such good news you cannot help but tell it to everyone you meet.
I have such a passion to see people released into guilt free evangelism by being who they are in God and influencing the world around them.
Worship Central's first ever UK Tour visited 9 cities across the UK, with over 8,000 worship leaders, musicians and worshippers gathering for the events.

Hi Gav
Thanks for the feedback.

I will keep working on the chorus!
