For solo acoustic leading I occasionally have a tambourine on the floor to stomp on as I'm playing for a little extra percussion.

last week on TV I saw a duo called "the 1930s" acoustic guitar and percussionist. the percussionist had a snare with brushes and a tambourine held in a kick drum pedal......
