I made a new chord arrangement for the old song I Love You Lord a few weeks ago in a minor key to flow from another song we did in our song set. It worked great, and although a lot of people warn about minors, it tucked on the emotional chords of the worshipper without feeling somber... since then I wrote a new chorus to it that I might introduce to the congregation if my Lead Pastor likes it. What do you think? Ps. the second verse is what i grew up singing in south africa... if the author ever reads this, please forgive me if it's wrong...
I love You Lord and I lift my voice
to worship You oh my soul rejoice
take joy my King in what You hear
let it be a sweet sweet sound in Your ear
I love You Lord and lift my hands
to worship You anytime I can
take joy my King in what You see
let it be a sweet sacrifice unto Thee
Lord I love You more than life
'cause You are more than enough
I want to give my whole life as a sacrifice
May ev'ry word that I say
all that I do ev'ry day
be a testimony of your grace in my life

hi lewies,
gonna be slightly contraversial but to be honest i think original chords to this song work better.
i just dont think they can be improved on much.
having said that the chorus you have is good with a few tweaks it could be awesome. the words to your chorus are great, i just dont know whether they fit the melody you have well enough at the moment. some of the words seem rushed esp the more than life line.
nice accapella bit at the end.
God bless,
gav.
