Hey...just found this forum. I'm always looking for feedback. I can take it. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
There’s a reign that is holy
There’s a King, a King of glory
And He’s here with us now
Yeah, He’s here with us now
There’s a name that is higher
There’s a purer desire
And He’s here with us now
Yeah, He’s here with us now
You are the Maker of everything
You are the Ruler of every king
And we’re livin’ in a holy reign
You are the peace in the war we bring
You are the source of the songs we sing
And we’re livin’ in a holy reign
Majesty, worship His Majesty
Majesty, worship His Majesty

Hey Gary. I enjoyed listening to the song - great melody & effective arrangement. I can envision a congregation easily joining in.
There are a few lines which seemed that they might benefit from a little fine-tuning:
"There’s a reign that is holy
There’s a King, a King of glory" - it seems like the verse would be better starting with the King of Glory line since that is what the verse is about, (verses 3 & 4 referring to He) Starting off singing about God's reign doesn't really fit.
Here's some examples of alternate wording. Even though some of the line beats are different, they should still fit with the strumming/feel of the song.
*There's a King of endless glory
*Lord of all, pure and holy
And He’s here with us now
Yeah, He’s here with us now
*There's a name above all others (Phillipians 2:9)
*An endless treasure to discover (Eph. 3:8)
And He’s here with us now
Yeah, He’s here with us now
"There’s a purer desire" - not sure what is intending to say & how it fits with the rest of the verse, other than making the rhyme work.
"You are the peace in the war we bring" - the wording of this line is confusing
"You are the source of the songs we sing" - if you rework the above line, you might redo this one - it seems like I've heard this used in other songs, maybe...
As far as the title & lines usin the phrase "holy reign" - it's a cool phrase, but I'm not sure if it is tied directly to the main theme of the song, which seems to be that God is amazing and powerful, and He is present when we worship Him.
Anyway, hope I haven't overstepped my bounds. Oh yeah, one more thing. Wish I had your singing voice - love it!

thanks John. Very cool thoughts to take in. Love the feedback.
Gary, I really love this song. I think your arrangement of the lines in delicate and thoughtful (though provoking also). I would suggest not to change anything except for this....
And we’re livin’ in *a* holy reign
consider changing to...
And we’re livin’ in *Your* holy reign
Thanks for sharing Gary.

Thanks Dan. Great thought.
gary. i really dig your voice, melody, overall vibe. really great job. the "we're living in a holy reign" line seems a little different (awkward is too strong). i would really challenge yourself to tighten things up lyrically...dig a little deeper. you're so close. i really like the lift on the chorus. great job dude! be encouraged.

Hey Gary,
Good song. Sound like you've got a good ear for melody and I like the chord change in the chorus.
I think, in regards to the 'we're living in a holy reign' that in part that statement is true; God is sovereign and reigns so he DOES reign. But because of free will and our rebellion, I wouldn't say that WE were living in a holy reign because God's kingdom is now and not yet.
Does that make sense? I like the lyric but just not sure whether that statement works.
But as a song, I think it is great and I like the sound of your voice.
Nick
