Hillsong-This is our God

Now I'm not pretending I wrote this song, but having spent some time trying to think of strong choruses for my own songs, and hearing people say on here "the chorus could be stronger" I thought I'd open up some discussion. After listening to the song I obtained the chords, and according to the lead sheet the chorus is the: I will fall at your feet I will fall at your feet and i will worship you here bit. Now, to me this sounds more like a pre-chorus, like it's building up to something. The tag is excellent and the verses are good, it just leaves me to wonder why the chorus is so weak! Sorry I couldn't upload any audio, my external hard drive is down at church rather than at home with me!
Hey Niall, just because a song is on an album it doesn't necessarily mean it's fantastic or without room for improvement - as I guess we all know! So many times I've been frustrated with what is nearly a great song on a CD I've bought, but maybe there's just a couple of lines that are weird/dodgy/obscure/unhelpful in some way that makes that song unusable. It's difficult to comment specifically on this as I haven't heard the song (and you probably can't upload the music on here for copyright reasons) - the words don't look that amazing or original, but then: Be my everything Be my everything Be my everything Be my everything Doesn't look that great on the screen (!) but happens to make a great chorus IMO. www.RESOUNDworship.org Free New Worship Songs

Yeh I get what you mean and it can appear that way on screen, but I would encourage you to listen to the song. I was talking more aout the melody rather than the words :-), I just put the words there to specify which part I was talking about! As for cd's not being perfect, I know what you mean, I too have been annoyed at songs on cd's that are really good, and then have a weak bit, or some strange lyrics!
Yeh I defo would say it's a build. When I play this song I really hold back until the bridge. But you just add extra parts building up to the bridge. As a drummer here I usually start off with just my floor tom and first chorus add the high tom in on occasion then 2nd verse I add kick and 2nd chorus I add ride on the beat. It is just a huge build up to a massive ending. We usually play it as a final song in worship because of this reason and you can always come back in with the bridge strong if the MC wants. Also you could just play the bridge separately in an open worship session. That would be pretty sweet.
