He Sings the Dawn

Hi, I’ve been encouraged to post some poetry/lyrics by a dear friend. Hopefully they will have the desired effect: encouragement and inspiration. I’ve been inspired recently by the parable of the sower and God’s desire that we should be fruitful in multiplying the expression of His truth, His word. I have the following lyrics (in need of a tune) inspired by Lamentations 3:22. They are supposed to work on 2 levels - what I hope to be increasingly our shared daily experience; as a glimpse and promise of better things to come at the resurrection. I love the idea that as our loving Lord sustains all things by His word (Hebrews 1:3) renewing us day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16) He rejoices in His creation (Isaiah 62:5) and declares His will, His Self, daily, not in heartless monotone but in song (Ezekiel 33:32 - not the verse I was looking for, but perhaps a better one). PDF attached. Comments welcome. Sean

what a song, this reminds me of the leeland style of songwriting for some reason. its very professionally written.
very powerful lyrics indeed.

Thanks Mr Hatch for your kind comments - I'll have to track down some Leeland!

Hi Sean, it would be difficult to put those exact lyrics to a tune. They're not a consistent metre. But there are certainly elements of the lyrics that would work really well as a song.

Thanks Paul - same thought occured to me. Normally I try to keep things consistent, but for some reason it seemed wrong with this one. It has an unusual spoken rythm (certainly in the first half) that I am fond of and hope will inspire an intresting musical rythm (perhaps almost ornamented) in the melody. The second half is more consistent (and may help to gain some height/momentum - should feel like flying) except for the last - but I am hoping this will help resolve the ending (a glide)... plagued by someone else's melody at the moment every time I go near it so unclear for now. Thanks again for your thoughts
