the rend collective
the city harmonic
gungor
the vine band
i have heard so much about these bands, but i havent heard any their music.
i looked at their websites, are these bands really good.
i looked at their lyrics i dont think their any different to any other lyrics i have read.
Yes to all.
My favourite band from that list would be Gungor. Have a listen to the Beautiful things album or the latest Ghosts Upon The Earth.
Amazing musicians and very creatively fresh lyrics. The Albums aren't background music, so take the time to give them the darkened room treatment. You won't regret it.

I'd definitely echo what Kristian says there - Gungor are reeeally good. Lots of creativity.

rend are a really creative bunch of folk. to call them a band is stretching things as they really are a collective with a core membership and a "cloud" of occasional members. Susan, the girl who teaches my kids piano is one of the cloud.... sometimes playing piano or violin. her husband Wally is more commonly on stage (or the studio) playing trombone and vuvuzela.
heres the core guys at the summer Madness festival..... very Mumford and sons.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQNczm45GyY
and of course they aren't afraid to laugh at themselves. salford youthwork summit teaching the harmonies from the above song on kazoo!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mahr9u4u_RA
and a video of "you bled" with Wally & his trombone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N3h0BKV6gw&feature=related
iphone worship? gotta be seen to be believed!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gaJ4A7mXJH8&feature=related

I've only heard of Rend Collective Experiment and the Vine Band. Both are very good indeed.
