Dmaj7 Bm Bm7(11) E7sus/E7
for praise is fitting for loyal hearts.

Amaj7 Em7( A7sus/A7)
They are happy, whose God is the Lord,

Dmaj7 Bm Bm7(11) E7sus/E7G7
the people he has chosen as his own.

2. The Lord looks on those who revere him,
on those who hope in his love,
to rescue their souls from death,
to keep them alive in famine.

3. Our soul is waiting for the Lord.
The Lord is our help and our shield.
May your love be upon us, O Lord,
as we place all our hope in you.

Just heard this and I'm new to hearing songs on this site and I've got to say I think this is great! Psalms are always a great source for inspiration when writing. I don't think I'd buy it or even want to sing it (although it's now very much in my head!). But I just love the easy going sound and feel about it, it somehow stands out as just a little different from what I've heard before. All the best.

Hey there I'm liking the groove on this song, as someone said it's quite fresh which is great. It's really cool to be writing a take on a psalm as well. I'm just wondering though, the phrase 'Happy the People the Lord has Chosen as His Own' I'm just wondering if it would be smoother English if it was say 'The People the Lord has Chosen are Happy' or even better something like 'Blessed are the people the Lord has Chosen as His Own' (I'm assuming you've used happy as a substitution for blessed?)
