So here's a Christmas-carol-esque song I wrote a while ago but just recorded... Would be interested in some general feedback! (please excuse the christmas inspired key-change/guitar solo!)...
It look's like you don't have Adobe Flash Player installed. Get it now.

I really like this, Hannah. A lovely, fresh Christmas song. After the piano mostly leading it, the style of electric guitar surprised me. Still, a good song.

This is great! The recording is really good and it sounds really well written - although its slightly more difficult to judge this without lyrics! Basically the only bit that I wasn't certain about was the bit early on where it said 'Holy Saviour' and the 'holy' seemed a bit crammed in.
Other than that, I love the chorus itself and could see that being used as a tag in a worship set. I'm also very appreciative of the dim. 7ths in the chorus!
Great job!!
Hi Hannah,
Really nice recording, sounds great from what I can hear of it! Can you post the lyrics? It'd make it easier to comment on them :-)
Musically though I love it, it sounds really Christmas-y and I love the chord sequences. The choir gives it a lovely touch as well!
Like Mikey I can really see the chorus working as a tag too :-)
Great work, keep it up!
Michael
Thanks for your comments, here's the lyrics...
Today we celebrate your birth
Jesus, your glory fills the earth.
Emmanuel, holy Saviour
Heavenly child in a manger
Fulfilling promises of old
Your light brings life into all the world
Join with the angel choirs to sing
Triumphant praise we bring:
Alleluia
What a Saviour
Alleluia
All glory to God
All glory to God
They came to bow before our King
With gifts so costly, an offering
Travelled so far to adore Him
Followed the star sent before them
And now we bow before you King
Giving our lives as an offering.
Join with the angel choirs to sing
Triumphant praise we bring:
Alleluia
What a Saviour
Alleluia
All glory to God
All glory to God
You paid the heaviest price for sin
Giving your life as an offering
Wonderful love, so unfailing
Glorious grace, so amazing
Not to be served, you came to serve
Sharing a love we did not deserve
One day all people before their king
Will lift one voice to sing
Alleluia
What a Saviour!
Alleluia
All glory to God
All glory to God
Great song! Its really nice to see a Christmas song up, because there really are so few of them. And I like the piano and little bells - feels very Christmasy.
Really like the chorus - simple but effective.
Just one thing... in the line 'Emmanuel, holy Saviour', the HOLY feels really rushed - what if you rather said Emmaunuel and Saviour? Changing to one syllable might work a bit better.

Great song Hannah. Quick question - is the chord sequence at Emmanuel Holy Saviour C#minor D, C#minor D then D, E A. Thanks, Keith
Hi Hannah - really like this. It's a really beautiful Christmas song. Nice one.
Glory to God Christmas song is my favorite song to be played upon waiting for the Christmas Eve to come. Me and family loves to sing this song.
