Hi guys,
My friend asked me to put this up and would appreciate any feedback. Please feel free to be honest.
Thanks. >>>>>>>

You oh Lord are the one who is most worthy of praise
Oh Lord, you’re my sword, my shield, my light in these days
But who are we to even utter the sound of your perfect name?
And who are we - we who mocked you, spat at you and nailed you to the tree.

Chorus:
Father forgive them you cried, even though you took our place
Father forgive them you cried, then your Father turned his face
Father forgive us we cry,
For it’s only by your grace we are saved.

You oh Lord took me out of the depth of my sin
Oh Lord, I was lost and guilty within
And who are you, that you would humble yourself to become a man
And who are you - you who bled for us, died for us and conquered death and hell.

I first want to say that i really really like this song, i must say that although the message is great, it sounds on some lines that there are a lot of words being squeezed in, now that was just on my first listen, so I am going to listen again. All in all it is a good song, good job.

hi there,

great song, well written, good topic and really original idea in the chorus contrasting father forgive them to father forgive us. very nice.

for me i would agree with neals, there seem to be too many words in the verses at the moment.
ive never been a fan of 'the tree' as a description of the cross either. not because its not true but because its not as powerful as saying the cross.

this line seems forced as if its only there to rhyme with place, 'then your Father turned his face'.

also the first part of V1 doesnt seem to link with the rest of the lyric. this line 'Oh Lord, you’re my sword, my shield, my light in these days' is a good line it just doesnt seem to relate to the topic of father forgive us and the cross.

God bless,
gav.
