'Fall' - worth it?!

Hi all, First up - hey! I'm new :) I'm Rose and I'm excited to be here, ha! I'm a music student in London. I drum in worship bands and I'm moving a bit into worship leading with guitar (eek!). I've been writing songs since I was wee, but I'm at the point now where I'm not sure whether it's worth keeping it going or not. I tend to write worship songs which are probably more performative songs than congregational songs - songs I hope inspire/encourage/help people to worship but are not generally suited to be sung in churches. This is a track I recorded the other day for a uni project, it's a pretty rough recording. I'm not too hot on my vocal skills and I guess I'd value commentary on whether it's worth keeping it going...is it (honestly) good enough for somebody to want to listen to it on a CD? Is it worth me getting out there to gig and stuff? I love writing this music but I'm not sure it's really high enough quality to force on anybody else! So please be honest :) I'm not going to break down if you say it's awful, promise! Any advice/comments would be gladly appreciated. Thank you all! Rose

It look's like you don't have Adobe Flash Player installed. Get it now.

Rose, by all means, keep writing, playing and singing! Your voice is wonderful. You have a unique vocal tone, which you use very expressively. Also, I love the syncopated guitar strumming. I think that the combination of thinking like a drummer, with guitar skills makes for a great combo. You are right, this isn't a congregational song, but it is ideal for a live performance at a cafe' or small concert venue. I like how the vocal style changes on the chorus, along with the effect on the vocal. If you lived here in Arizona, I'd probably want to hire you to sing on one of my worship songs. :^) If you do want to put a recording of this song out to the general public, I would l suggest getting with a studio or individual who can capture the guitar and vocal with so really good mics. Other than that, it's fine. That's my honest opinion. John Green Recent Rainfall Worship www.RecentRainfall.com

thanks for the feedback :) and that's really encouraging...I would definitely re-record the track before releasing it - luckily I work in a department stuffed full of techies! I'd like to get out there gigging, I've been a bit chicken about it until now 'cuz I'm so used to hiding behind a drum kit when on stage. Thank you for getting back to me with your opinion :) Rose
This is great. Don't give up! I think this is an amazing song, quite reminiscent of a more percussive Jason Mraz (which is definitely no bad thing!) I could definitely listen to this on a CD! Keep it up! Alex
