hey, here's a new track that's due to be mixed and mastered early next month. thoughts? theme: a song to help a congregation gather focus at the start of a worship time.... ©neilwilsonmusic Let the praise of the Lord be in my mouth let the praise of the Lord be in this house Let worship rise within our songs let the worship rise within our souls every tongue, every tribe, everyone Lift up your praise for we have a God who saves us Lift up your heart's 'cos we know a God who's changed ours so we make a choice to lift up our voice above and beyond all life's noise every tongue, every tribe, everyone Let this cry for you Lord be from my heart Let this cry for you Lord be from the start Let your glory shine within our lives For your glory shows this love divine You are the God before us You are the God who's with us You are the God forevermore We lift up our praise for we have a God who saves us We lift up our heart's for we know a God who's changed ours so we make this choice to lift up our voice above and beyond all life's noise every tongue, every tribe, everyone

It look's like you don't have Adobe Flash Player installed. Get it now.

hey Neil i recognise that voice... still lovin' all the old 'Steve' stuff! :) really like this too - i can definitely hear it being used at my church to inspire ppl and remind them why they're there. great hooky chorus - love the slightly unusual chord pattern at the end, and the lyrics about making a choice to praise are a great emphasis. i think too often ppl use the 'i'm just not in a worship kind of a mood today' excuse, when actually that's not the point - God's still worthy of praise however we feel, and choosing to worship in spite of our feelings often leads to some really precious times of worship as God honours that choice. nice one! suggestions just about the bridge really... i think i see what you're doing in the bridge by using the present tense all the way thru (as in God being the great I AM?), but i wonder if it makes the first line sound a bit odd, as in, 'the meal was set before the guests' (rather than making the point that God was there before we were) - does that make sense? maybe you get a better sense of the scope of God being eternal if you use the 'was, and is and is to come' formula? so... you always were before us now you're the God who's with us and you'll be God forevermore i don't think that's perfect by a long shot (altho it's perhaps better than 'you were the God before us...' which implies we're God now!) it's more conventional, but maybe not a bad thing? appear to have gone on a bit, but hope that might be useful. bless ya! matt :0)-
Dude - this is sounds really good. Agree with what Matt says. THe only thing for me which is a little inconsistent is the fact that half the song is ABOUT God and an exhortation to one another and the other half is directly TO God. Having said that I'm not sure it's a major problem and I wouldn't personally be thrown by that - but it's worth a mention I guess. But I really like this and it's got a great feel and great message of exhortation to the church. nice one Neil Blessings Wayne
Thanks! Some helpful feedback :)

I really really love this song!! :-) We sung it at iscape, at Spring Harvest and I thought it was so good - I especially like the line "above and beyond all life's noise" because that's especially relevant to teenagers. :-)

Straight from the go, I'm loving this song. Strong, good lead and great emphasis with the lyrics. Would love to do this with my team.
