Hello, this is the first song that I have posted so I hope you enjoy it. I would appreciate your thoughts.
I wrote the song when I was having a tough time. Praising God when life is going well is easy, but still praising when you do not feel like it is hard. The text is derived from Psalm 34 v1 'I will extol the Lord at all times, His praise will always be on my lips.'
The Lord is the same every day of the week
Not just Sundays when they come around.
And so we should praise Him however we feel
When we're happy or when we are down. (x2)
His mercy is constant, His love is secure
His arms are around me, I know that for sure
His presence is with me, His Spirit inside
The Lord is beside me, He is my guide.
The Lord is the same.....
By turning to seek Him - to heaven we gaze
From looking within us - to 'Jesus be praised'
To Him who is holy, yet died for our sin
What love and compassion have we seen from Him
The Lord is the same.....
The Lord God is holy, he is always the same. (x4)

Works very well, Derek. It is psalm-like in its juxtaposition of low mood and the imperative of praising God. Very nicely sung too. Scottish accent so taking.

I love this Derek. It has a directness of communication that really works. It takes the 'Blessed Be Your Name' theme in a new direction. It is really easy to pick up as well. I hope others like it as much as I do.
