Easter Setlists

What songs are you playing for the Easter weekend around the globe? --- It would be great to see the setlists for Easter services around the globe, I'm hoping to finalize ours today, but here is the set so far... (subject to change): - Crown Him With Many Crowns (hymn) - The Stand (United) - Amazing Grace / My Chains Are Gone (Tomlin) - Lift High (Fee) How about you? What songs are you playing for Easter and/or Good Friday?
Are you really organised, or am I just really incredibly unorganised? ;)
It's not you, it's me. I'm a little obsessive. Still though - it'd be great to hear what anyone else is thinking of doing.
I'm hoping in the run up to Easter to use 'Hosanna (Praise is rising)' a couple of times...I havent got onto Easter itself quite yet...
Not thought about songs yet...but will do soon! I absolutely love planning for Easter services! What I have thought about is how we're gonna start our Sunday night service on Easter day...with a reverse cardiograph reading. It'll start with a constant beep and a straight green line, then kick into a rhythm and a beep, beep, beep etc. They kick into a rocking worship song - working on finding something suitable! A bit of work video editing but should be well worth it!
OOO sounds nice. Would love to hear more steve (maybe you could record it live? or show us the video?) sounds cool! Does the cardiograph fit in anywere? or is it just for coolness effect?
I'll give y'all a shout if I can get it working. I just thought it'd be an ace way to start. Might be a bit crudely done as I don't have loads of video software. I may just have to make a massively wide picture and pan it if you catch my drift, instead of having the tracer. I'm also thinking about constructing a cross from parcans facing the congregation so we can get blinding light in the shape of a cross. That or a bank of TVs in the cross shape running loops. Arial boosters with 8 ouputs can be obtained from ebay for a pittance. I do kinda go a bit mental at Easter, there was the year I put a good half ton of rubble in a pile on stage, with a 15 ft high scaffold cross and a massive barbed wire crown of thorns. Also had a smoke machine. My dad (vicar at the time) gave the talk whilst drinking a beer. The sign on the cross was done mid-service with a spray can. Very powerful. Good times!
My church back home used the Graham Kendrick song Servant King pretty much from December until May every week for the last 4-5years lol. This is the Easter song that they use. I don't supose the song selection will change too much from usual at my London church.
Steve, I LOVE the cardiograph idea!!! AWESOME!!!! Iain, if I understand your question correctly, my interporetation of where the cardiograph fits is from death to life, ie Jesus being raised from the dead. Therefore His cardiograph goes from flat (dead) to beeping (alive). Am i right Steve? That's so cool!!!!! Sorry for the hijack Isaac ;) No Easter ideas from my side yet... gC
I haven't thought much about Easter at Church yet, but the CU service at Uni is this Saturday! The plan is : - In Christ Alone - Happy Day - He has Risen - Thine be the Glory - He Lives (Lakewood) - performance track - (Light of the World) - Lost in Wonder - Lord I lift Your name on High - Shackles I'm also loving the cardiograph idea - genius!
I love that heartbeat idea too Steve - do you mind if I use the same idea at our church?!! http://www.justworshipgod.blogspot.com/
