Eagle's wings, Isaiah 40
1 reply

Hi folks,

First post for me. this song is on the Isaiah 40 passage about strength, stumbling and hope. Tim encouraged me to whack this on here for some feedback, and i'm grateful for the pointer. I love to hear other's thoughts on my songs. I'm really not that prolific a song writer or the best at it but this song seemed to resonate with a few folk when i did worship academy with Chris Bowater and Andy Bromley etc and just been encouraged to go forth with it since really. This is a rough demo we put together one afternoon.

thanks for listening, blessings

Jack

Lyrics: (key:A) (Shout if you want chords! or see myspace.com/jackellis under the 'blog' bit)

Even though we'll stumble, Even though we'll fall
Your Grace upon us, will lead us, through the darkness through the storm

We'll put our hope in you our Father, our trust in You forever
for we know, and we have heard,
You're Everlasting God, Creator, the end of earth no measure
we will soar on eagle's wings, you will be our strength forever more

Hey Jack!
Welcome to the forum; I'd buy you a coffee and welcome you formally but the internet isn't too good for those sorts of things... :)

Its a really nice song! I like the melody and it lifts quite nicely at the chorus. Really strong work. I think there's just one point I'd say you should focus on, "the end of earth no measure." To me that line doesn't connect well to the rest of the chorus. I think I understand what you're getting at, but I think you could word it in a such a way that would be even better. Have a go at it if you agree.

All my best! Hope to hear more from you sometime soon!
