Hi guys, Any pointers that would help people who are weighing up their purpose in life?! (I like to start with easy ones hehe). I feel more and more called beyond the normal routine of work/rest/play and was quite happy to give up my pharmacist job as a result. I thought the answer would somehow come to me during a gap year of travel and voluntary work, but still there's no obvious path to pursue. I'm praying, worshipping, listening, trying to make sense of where I'm meant to go from here (the priesthood, as a Catholic guy, is a particular draw). Still, the waiting hasn't borne anyting yet. I wonder if people can share how they were convinced about their current roles or if others, like me, are currently facing a change of gear - how can you know God's plan clearly without confusing it with something that isn't genuinely His? Look forward to hearing from you (but won't do anyting rash as a result lol)! In Christ, Larry. |

Hey Larry,
I'm in a similar situation myself. I'm starting to learn that sometimes God just leaves us to work it out for ourselves, we don't always get the definite word from God that we are looking for. Sometimes we just need to keep doing what we're already doing. What do you like doing? What are you good at? We need to trust God that if we go the wrong way, he will tell us to stop. Don't be scared to step out and try new things, even if you're not totally sure. There's no shame in failing, at least you tried. I've wasted to much of life waiting to discover my calling. I know I have probably missed many opportunities because of the fear of getting it wrong.
Walk in faith. Walk tall. Our God is good and He will make it all clear to you at the right time.
Being accountable to your church leaders really helps too. As well as getting into the word and praying (I know it's obvious but you never know).
Hope this helps
Be Blessed
Barry.

My way just suddenly became clear to me, I never intended to try a pursue full time ministry, but thats what I'm doing......
Thats not very helpful, but just pray and perceiver!
