Defining Prophetic Flow in Worship
3 replies

When I lead worship I like to allow room for the Holy SPirit to move and do what He wants. Many times this means allowing the singers and musicians to play prophetically or just singing to God out of the overflow of their hearts.
Many times God places a song in one of the singers (or my) heart and we will sing a Word of the Lord (just like a spoken prophetic word-just in singing form) and many times we have literally heard the sounds of heaven and played as a team with these sounds flowing out of of fingers/mouths.
Thats one thing I love about God, He chooses to use us, all the time, to minister and reach people.
How do you as a worship leader feel about allowing room for Prophetic Flow?

I think it's awesome. As long as your people know when you are allowing room and when you aren't.

we try to allow room for people to sing out in the spirit during our worship. It is something our leadership really want so I always make sure there is some space in there some where. Then you have to be very aware of what is going on in the room... checking visually with leadership if they want you to leave MORE space or end a set etc... it's all about communication for us between the worship leader and the person leading the meeting and discerning what is on Gods heart!

It's His Service. So We Are Continually Making Sure That We Are Submitting To His Will And Purpose In The Meeting Place. We Occasionally Flow Into A "spiritual Improv" Lead By Whoever Is "Leading" That Day. Most Of The Time Our Song Service Is Met With A Tongue & Interpretation, Prophetic Word, Or Altar Call. Probably Every Other Week At Least. It's Great To See The Gifts Of The Spirit In Operation, And To Hear From The Lord And Experience The Manifest Presence! That's The Reason I Came, Not To Sing Songs Or Listen To Some Preacher, I Came To Meet With God! (Not That I Don't Enjoy The Other Things Mentioned)
In Our Church The Leadership Does However Have Certain Guidelines That If You Give A Word In Tongue, You Are Responsible That There Is An Interpretation. Just In Accordance With Scripture - 1 Cor. 12 & 14. Don't Ask Me But We Have Never Had An Instance When This Didn't Happen.
But I Believe God Works Uniquely And Personally To Each Embassy Around The World According To His Desire And Their Need.
