This is an arrangement of the hymn "Come Thou Almighty King" by our band, waketoday. The chorus was written by a worship pastor friend of mine (named Mark Miller) who was kind enough to allow our band to record his chorus for this hymn. We also used the basic arrangement/melody for the hymn, and just gave it a bit of our personal touch with a few of the changes and the hooks. I wrote the bridge/outro for it as well.
I know this isnt truly original (considering it's a hymn), but i thought I'd share and hopefully it'll encourage you. Feel free to comment thoughts/feedback.

COME THOU ALMIGHTY KING
V#1
Come thou almighty King
Help us Thy Name to sing, help us to praise!
Father all glorious, o’er all victorious,
Come and reign over us, Ancient of Days!
V#2
Come, Thou incarnate Word,
Gird on Thy mighty sword, our prayer attend!
Come, and Thy people bless,
and give Thy Word success,
Spirit of holiness, on us descend!
V#3
Come, holy Comforter,
Thy sacred witness bear, in this glad hour.
Thou Who almighty art, now rule in every heart,
And ne’er from us depart, Spirit of power!
CHORUS:
Come and reign
Come and reign
Come and reign our King

Jonathan, I always enjoy your stuff and I like this a lot. Didn't know the hymn before (there seems to be some hymns that are just more popular stateside...) The usual difficulties with old hymn lyrics of accessibility of language might make it tricky congregationally - although I guess it would depend on the church!

Definitely. I usually find that speaking through some important parts of the hymn and leading the people through explaining a bit about the hymn is always good for them and also myself. I also really like it when simple refrains are written in with these types of hymns so that the verses, which are just chalk full of theological thought, end with a nice simple chorus, which provides the space and time to rest in those truths.
What are some popular hymns on your side of the pond? :) That is interesting to me that some hymns are more popular in some places than others. To the defense of this song, it's not very popular at all here in the states. I'd never heard it before my friend Mark led worship with it.
Thanks for the comment and encouragement Paul!
