Once a Star, is written so it can be sung by a congregation or a special group. My voice is an ensemble type voice, not a solo. (Keep that in mind as you listen) All was recorded in Garageband on my mac. On that night came a child, CHO In the dark shines a star Though he came a tiny babe Cho. If you sing it in your church, I'd love to have an email from you. All recording and publishing rights reserved. If you want a lead sheet, email me karl.ivers@mcpherson.com

Hey Kivers,
There's a few differences between the words you've posted here and those you've recorded. Any chance you could post them on the thread.
I like the orchestration, very festive!
Andy
The posted words are the latest version. (the lead sheet should be the latest also) I keep revising. I'll do a latest recording when I can get my wife to take time to make the recording. She has a great voice.
hi kivers,
nice song thanks for sharing. simple yet effective.
im not sure the line, 'man has been saved by a heavenly birth' is completely true?
it was Jesus death and ressurection that saved us?
ps just a practical point, it will help you getting more feedback if you dont post quite so many songs in one go.
keep writing you have a great style and lyrical quality aout your songs.
God bless,
gav.
Good theological point. I guess my thoughts aren't clear so the lyric needs to be more clear.
I always think that Christmas and Easter are bookends of the same event, the plan of Salvation, so I don't think of either one without the other. It was all one plan. However, I've rewritten the chorus. What do you think. It's actually closer to the original angels message.
And then the angels sang
And the message rang
“Rejoice in this holy birth
Glory to God, Glory to God.
This Christ child has come to bring peace to the earth.”
Karl
hi karl,
yeh the rewrite works well i think.
youre right that easter and christmas are totally interlinked.
God bless,
Gav.
