Christmas Number 1?

In reading another post about Christmas it struck me that there is room for a TIm Hughes/AL Gordon Christmas number 1!

I can see the guys on saturday morning TV singing out the tunes with Christmas trees behind them - or even gathered around the Advent candles on Blue Peter - aahh.

Seriously there is a real need for some good new tunes at Christmas and I think the guys should go for it.
I am not advocating a cheesy Christmas album with your best christmas jumpers on(as some have done no names mentioned) but a great Christmas tune bring it on.

I'm supporting the Delirious to number one. Not sure if that's Christmas though

Maybe they could stick Tea Towel and Gaffa Tape on as hidden B-sides :P

11 November 2008 - 7:12pm

Pilavachi for christmas nunber one! Brillaint!

:o Why cant Tim,Al,Mike and the D? Boys all write a christmas number one together.

You are so right Clive, CHRSTmas number one is always a big thing. the X-Factor winner (who should be Diana this year!!) usualy get it and they are good but its CHRISTmas not NEW-POP-SENSATION-mas.

Ooh, that's a good idea!

Nice to see this has captured the imagination of many. I like the idea of a supergroup!
A charity single in the making.
It would be great to have a song that is really contemporary - maybe using the image of the star or light - I would be up for a little brainstorm session.
What song ideas - words/images work for a non-cheesy christmas song - great to have a song that would connect with people on the street? make them think about the true meaning of christmas.
