Hi Gav
I trawled through the worshiptogether.com site the other day in a bid to find new stuff. There were a few good ones on there, the three I liked most were:

Joy Has Dawned KEITH & KRISTYN GETTY

Born In Bethlehem THIRD DAY

I've also reworked a few carols:

thanks guys,
sorry i should have clarified joe, 90% of the stuff we do is trad carols, but there are some more modern ones aswell.
its easier to do songs as a performance piece yeh, but some songs are so simple they are easy to pick up.
also i like doing things like 'o come let us adore him' and putting some new words in like, 'Lord Jesus how we love you'
we're doing a shakin stevens one at the carol service for a laff aswell!
cheers,
gav.
Rich, loving that EP! O Come O Come Emmanuel sounds great :)
We're doing a 9 lessons and carols service with 6 traditional carols and 3 band-led carols. We'll probably do new arrangements of classics carols (like Phil Wickham's The First Noel) as opposed to new carols.
I also just did an arrangement of 'In The Bleak Mid-Winter' with an additional tag section that we might do - have a listen :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEPh46_pmvc&feature=channel_video_title

nice one paddy!
Love that Paddy! Adding tags to well-known carols seems a good way forward for a fresh sound at Christmas. I've always loved the arrangement of "angels from the realms of glory" with chorus from "glory in the highest" from a few years back.

There must be more that work well. Hmm, time to mess around with some carols...

Hey guys, hope Christmas service preparation is going well!
I've done another couple of carol arrangements, and they're all available for listening and download here - http://paddyheaton.bandcamp.com/
I did some more unusual ones I think, so maybe they'll give you some ideas!
Merry Christmas :D

We've gone with a trad set of carols... reason being that most people know them, so we want it to be a bit of a singalong!
That being said, we've put a band behind them, and re-arranged them so there's a decent band arrangement, and have consequently rewritten the vocal parts too.
It'd be nice to introduce a new one every so often, but the congregation won't really know it, so you'd end up doing it more as a performance piece...
