Blessed to be a Blessing?

Has God blessed you with musical gifts, skills and talents? Do you want to use those gifts, skills and talents to bless His people and be part of his work of transformation in an urban priority area in London?

If you do, please read on:

I'm writing with a request for help for St Peter's on the Stonegrove Estate (north London) which is where I minister. We're a small fellowship (up to 50 including children and young people on a Sunday morning – which is about twice as many as 3 years ago) on a regeneration estate (in the top 12% of the 2010 indices of multiple deprivation - which is why the whole area is being slowly knocked down and rebuilt) at the end of the Northern and Jubilee lines.

Most of the congregation come from the local area; some have been in the church for years and others are new to the faith. For the first time for many years, the church is growing a fringe. By the time they all arrive, we're probably about 60% African and the age profile is very mixed.

The reason I'm writing is that we've been praying and looking for someone to lead the sung worship and develop and music team in our fellowship. For about 18 months we've been inviting people like Matt Redman and Robin Mark to lead our singing on Sunday mornings (we use CDs). Our worship style is middle of the road charismatic evangelical and recognisably Anglican (which means we use some liturgy, some song blocks and value preaching; prayer ministry is offered at the end of all services and we have 'celebrations' involving bring and share meals about 5 times a year). Our people can sing! The services start around 10.30 and finish 12.00-12.15 followed by fellowship. We also have a quieter service on Thursday evenings without music.

We're hoping that you might be the person who might want to visit us with a view to answering a call from God to help us grow. There's a whole lot more to say and we'd love to start saying it to the right person!

Anyway, thanks for reading this - May God continue to bless you and prosper your ministries! Look forward to hearing from you soon.
