It's 2am and we're back in our hotel after a fantastic night in KL, Malaysia. Al is going through his freshly ironed underwear, checking it's up to scratch, whilst I blog about the day we've had. It's been such a cool time. The day started with both Al and I sleeping through alarm clocks, resulting in a mad rush to the church. It was soundcheck and then into a Worship Leaders gathering for about 150 leaders from around the city. They were a wonderful group of people - kind and welcoming. It was a privilege to pray with some of them. You're reminded here that for many leading worship can be exhausting and lonely. Our prayer is that these events can be a source of encouragement and strength. In the evening over 1,000 gathered in a wonderful church called DUMC. The senior pastor, Pastor Daniel was an inspiring man. He planted the church 30 years ago and has seen huge growth. Great to see what can happen when people choose to serve for the long haul in a particular place. It was an exciting time. The ministry felt very special. There was a real response and a move of God. Nothing beats seeing God at work in the lives of people. One other thing that has got me thinking. I was chatting to a very successful businessmen, who has companies in many countries around the world. I asked him the question, how do you keep sharp and effective with all you have going on? His response was - stay close to God, read your bible, pray and worship. That was it. If I'm honest initially i was slightly disappointed. I'd hoped for the 3 keys to effectiveness. But the more I've thought about it, the more I've realised he's right. If we want to be excellent in what we do, if we want to make an impact, the most effective way we can do that is by staying close to God. Quite a challenge!

I know this is off the subject, Tim, but the conference recently in Cosa Mesa California was incredible. Im in the midst of recording my first original praise and worship CD. You have been an amazing influence on the project along with the older Vineyard renewal period artists. It was great to meet Cindy there too. My walk during this process has grown closer with the Lord, and the touch of the Father on your music and ministry has fueled my desire to lift up the King beyond anything i really understood going into this. Your song "Here I Am To Worship" lead me to move away from rock for this new project, especially the 2nd chorus "I'll never know, how much it cost..." Thanks for all you do to touch the lives of others. I enjoyed speaking to Alex recently as well. I look forward to seeing what God is doing through you and your team. Bless you and your family... -TLT -www.Myspace.com/ToddLThomasMusic

Hey Tim, really thankful to God for both you and Al for coming and share with us during the short conference here in KL. Am greatly blessed and learned alot from both of you. Truthfully, sometimes I feel like the worship practices for me here seem like a duty roster thingy, and long for new and fresh experiences with God and with music as well. But I'm truly blessed through this conference to have learned from your sharing and it encouraged me alot to go deeper with Jesus in new creative ways!! God bless both of you and safe journey as you all travel to and fro to serve our Lord Jesus and help equip worshipers/leaders. Barbara @ Penang, Malaysia

Hey Tim & Al..:) Thanks for your encouragement just by being who you are in God. And seeing what Worship Central is all about really inspire me in worship and my calling. Hope to see you guys again!!
Hey Tim and Al, I praise God and thank God for the wonderful time of teaching during your time in Malaysia. It rejunivated my passion for God. An experience I will never forget where my luggage was carried away by the taxi driver. Still, it reminds of the song "Blessed be Your name". You give and take away but my heart will choose to sing Blessed Be Your Name. Hope to see you one day in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Blessing, Still Brian
