Tour // Southampton

24 Oct 2008

Over 1,000 people packed into Central Hall for our biggest night yet, with some incredible times of ministry and worship. It was a real highlight to be with our friends at New Community church in Southampton.

I remember coming here as a teenager when I'd just become a Christian and seeing the early delirious 'Cutting Edge' events, and being blown away by the sense of God's presence. I lost my voice singing 'I'm Not Ashamed of the Gospel' in my little car belting up the motorway on the home. The building is great - it's nearly in the round, which makes it fun to worship in, as there's a real sense of being all in it together. It's also cool to be back together on the bus after the weekend away - we're getting used to sleeping on the move! Anyway, sorry this is late - it's been a hectic day!

We were there, our first ever experience of worship in this format and we were totally blown away by what we experienced, felt, saw and witnessed. The depth of love and caring was absolutely incredible. We can't wait to attend worship like this as it is the tonic we need. The Ministry Team were absolutely amazing - thank you and it was great to see you get down into the congregation and join in, that makes such a difference to the young people. Bless you. Mum to one - in search of Peace.
Love and Light, Tracey xXx.
As a worship leader i got alot out of this talk and hopfully coming to the on in march with my other 2 worship bands :) it was a great talk and had so much fun!!! Was truely amazing and really got me wanting to worship him and write my own worship song and was really on fire forr God that night it was so amazing. ecspecually (or how ever you spell it) as i was on top of the entrace bit and as i was jumping kept nearly falling over the banester (or how ever you spell that too) bit, it was funny. Amazing talk and i think it inspired alot of worship leaders and worshipers. great night, God Bless S. J. Lovibond.
I have been to two Worship Central events at HTB and have been inspired and learnt a great deal so was keen to bring some friends along when you came to Southampton. I sat at the back with my wife and friend whilst the two teengae girls with us sat on the floor. They all had a great time and appreciated the integrity in what you said and the music but we all (including the teenagers) said it was just too loud, which for us made it harder to worship. During the first half of worship I looked to my side a few times and could see quite a few of the folks weren't singing, they were just watching perhaps because like me they couldn't hear themselves sing. When I was was at HTB I really apprecaited worshipping with a church full of musicians, the purity and harmony in their voices but except for a few quieter numbers it felt a lot more like a concert at Southampton. I'm sure it's not easy to get the volume right to please everyone but please check with other folks to see if it was the same for them.
This was a truely wonderful evening of worship and learning that I will never forget -thank you so much to Tim & Al. The music was amazing, the message great, and the time seemed to go so quickly -I could've gone on another hour (and I'm no spring chicken!). I felt real power and passion being communicated which has really encouraged me and my band. I thought the sound level was just right as I hear my own voice too often! For all the voices to join gives a sense of heaven I think. The building is great and the people with badges very friendly! I was struck by Tim's sense of humour and humility - loved the joke played on him in the airport and have retold it a few times...although not as well. Hope worship central comes to Southampton again.
Hi Al and everyone, and thank you SO much for coming down here last week. I was amazed by the number of people who came in front of the stage when Tim asked anyone wanting to build something creative for God here to come forward. So many people ! We have to do something about that, we can't let all these talents be wasted ! If you are one of these people, please read this forum post : http://www.worshipcentral.org/forum/topic/the-unity-project-worshiping-across-denominations-in-southampton. It's a vision I have in my heart for Southampton, and I really feel it's a call from the Lord. Please do contact me of you are interested. GOd bless you all,
I just wanted to say that it was an absolute pleasure having you all here, I had a great time and I was out in the foyer all night so I can only imagine how much better it was in the hall. The whole day was fun - getting the bus into the car park, having lunch with you, having you inspire our worship leaders from across the city and then the main event itself. I've heard nothing but good feedback and everyone is talking about next year?!?!?! We're definitely up for it if you are!! Thank you and bless you.
I also was at the Southampton event and like many others appreciated the effort and preparation that had gone into the event. Also like others i was concerned at the volume level - it really was very difficult to hear anything apart from the band and I found my ears ringing and quite painful for a couple of days afterwards. I was sitting just above the guys on the sound desk so they were hearing what I was hearing! I don't have a problem with loud, enthusiastic worship but this for me was too much, even in the somewhat quieter, more reflective songs. On a more positive note, what was said was great!
It fantastic night, i was right at the front and i really thoroughly enjoyed it all. Thanks so much for everything! I was touched and the atmosphere was fantastic! Beth.

Hey Tim & Al. Worship Central in Southampton was amazing. I went with a friend from college and some of his friends from his church. When he mentioned about Worship Central in London he told me loads about it, so when I heard it was coming I thought right I have to go. So for my first worship central i loved it. It was amazing to see how much people care for all you do if you are a musician etc. I was right at the front with my friends. The atmosphere there was plain awesome! I can't wait to go to london but first things first is booking it. God Bless Esther
Personally, I loved the volume - thought it was great! Anyway, just a note to the team really to say that it was a genuine pleasure to work with you guys. Our team just really enjoyed working alongside you all, the day was really good fun and the Chineese at the end just capped it beautifully! You're are welcome back any time - see you soon I hope! Gaz
