Tour // Oxford

16 Oct 2008

We're on the road after doing our first event in Oxford with 700 people packing out St Aldate's for a great evening celebration. It's fantastic to finally be out on the tour after months of preparation and planning.

We're traveling with a great team of musicians, production and events team, and in total there are 14 of us and all our production gear packed into a sleeper bus, which is great fun (if a little on the tight side). We had a slightly nervous start to the day as we had to work really hard to fit everything in! Our vision for doing these events is to take Worship Central out to the four corners of the UK, as we've only done the UK events in London so far. We feel really passionate about encouraging worship teams and for us this tour is as much about learning from what God is doing in teams across the country as anything else. The night was great fun, with people from churches right across Oxfordshire gathering and there was a real sense of celebration and worship. We met some great people and there's a real passion for Jesus here. We've been really amazed at how many different churches are represented from literally right across the denominations. We had fun catching up with some old friends tonight and it's been a very encouraging start to this trip. As I write we're on the bus overnight to York - that's the great advantage of a sleeper bus - we had all the gear loaded by 11pm and will arrive for breakfast in York with a full day ahead to prepare. The only disadvantage is that there are 14 of us crammed into bunks and there's hardly room to breathe! Anyway, thank you to everyone who came along in Oxford and we'll update you on how tomorrow goes!

Hi Guys! Came to Oxford with some friends from our new church in Milton Keynes, and it was the first time I have seen you guys since the Worship Central Retreat last year...feels like ages ago! Just wanted to say a big thanks for the encouragement you give to Worship Leaders like me. It really is something that is desperately needed as we struggle to focus on being God pleasers instead of people pleasers. Its such a great opportunity to have worship and ministry time which you are not in charge of! I hope others are as touched as I was last night, especially with the time for prayer minisrty. Was so, so good to see you guys again...and hear the family news (nice pic of the little un Tim!). I pray that God will keep you safe on your travels, and give you the strength you need to continue to equip people like me. Please know how very much it is both needed, and appreciated! Joy x
Hi guys What a fantasic evening. We brought some of our Mens group and it opened up great debate and discussion in the cars on the way home. It is always fantasic to be able to equip the church with new ideas and thoughts and Worship Central does that everytime. Pray that the other 7 nights will be just as memrable for those going along. Cheers.
