Tour // Edinburgh

18 Oct 2008

Day three and we had an incredible night in Edinburgh, with a totally packed out event. It was amazing to be back in Edinburgh with Worship Central, as my family are from here and I spent four years studying in the city.

We got into town early and I had a coffee with an old friend before heading to the venue. We were hosted by a great church called Morningside Baptist Church and it was fun to connect with their team. We had a good soundcheck, worked hard on running a few songs in particular that we needed to work on - the tours been great for us creatively as we're being forced to really hone and refine the songs we're using. We've been working off quite a small playlist and it means we're able to really nail the arrangements, which in turn allows us to be more spontaneous. It's funny how sometimes a really strong foundation musically means you're that much more ready to go off the beaten path if needed. The evening was fantastic - there was a real buzz as all the tickets to the event had sold out a few days previously, and it was an amazing gathering of worship teams from across all the churches in Edinburgh and around the place. It was encouraging to see so many different churches represents, from the Free Church to the Catholics, traditional to fresh expressions, and the evening was the most passionate and powerful we've seen yet. As I write we're on the way to the ferry for Belfast. It's about 1am and we're grabbing what sleep we can on the bus before taking the bus on the ferry at 7.30am! Tomorrow we do the last event of this leg of the tour in Belfast, before heading back to be in London to lead at church all day Sunday - it's crazy - but for us church is the real priority and we'll always try and be back to be there if we can. Then Monday will be a family day, Tuesday we're in the office for our staff meeting, before heading out to do Southampton, Swansea, Birmingham and Manchester. Anyway, time to catch some zzzzz's!

Evening Al, thought you did a fantastic job tonight.....this is my first experience of a "short" Worship Central and I loved it...I giggled as you recalled the open worship time in Glasgow as there were indeed some thick accents booming out from the back of the balcony! Thanks so much for coming back up to Scotland so soon after last time (April). That was a very significant Worship Central for us where a strong call to move to the capital was reinforced by a deeply moving time with Father God at the end of that first morning session in April. And so, six months later....ta-daaa! Once more you brought an openness in worship which allowed us to be challenged from the word and to meet deeply with God. Bless you all as you head off to Belfast and back to London for Sunday no doubt, Lynn
Hi Guys, great job last night and it was really powerful. I think some of the newer songs really spoke deep into our lives and there was a real sense of unity in the place. Pray you all know strength for tonight and look forward to catching up in London, Tim and Al. Every blessing Clive Check out some more of my music at www.myspace.com/themysterytent

Great event again guys! Though I was slightly worried when the d&b FOH stack was wobbling during Dancing Generation!!!! Just wondering if the song To the ends of the earth song that Tim did will appear on here at some point? Blessings Mark

Thanks for coming on Friday night guys. Was really encouraging...not only to see what will hopefully was another step towards interdenominational unity across the Edinburgh church but also to get re-inspired and reminded what worship is all about. Thank you! Laura Anne http://brunettekoala.wordpress.com

Loved Friday night. Wanted to say that the whole night was just right - Tim leading, then the 2 way talk then Al leading. It was very moving. I prayed that you guys would continue to be refreshed too despite the fact you give out all of the time, that you would continue to have your finger on the pulse and that your creativity would just go from strength to strength. You re-engerised me to have Passion, Purity and Perseverance because I had lost all of these things. Thank you again - and to the guys who are on stage with you. Sorry about my posted comment above - I was practising my "signature" but hadn't meant to just put my signature - ignore!!
Amazing work!!! Loved the worship...especially "Because of Your Love" by Al. I've had one of the tunes stuck in my head that Tim did but have no idea what it is!!! God bless, Jordan :D
