New Album: Day 4

Day 4 started with a well earned haircut. I see Rach tomorrow so I'll find out if it was a good one! In the morning Nathan (producer - pic above) spent some time editing the tracks and then in the afternoon I did a couple of vocals.

First up was "Happy Day." The way we do the vocals is to record me singing the song about seven or eight times. Nathan then compiles the vocals,
taking the best bits from the different takes. I always love recording vocals. It's a great chance to really push yourself. There's always so much to be thinking about. You need to be aware of your pitch, feel, emotion and pronunciation. It's quite tricky. With this song - I loved singing it, which is always a good sign. It feels very exciting and energetic.

The next vocal was for, "Centre of it all." This is another rocky number. Nathan really pushed me on this song vocally. By the end I was totally exhausted. I think we got some cool stuff though. I definitely feel like I'm stepping out more and trying some new things.

Well that's it for now. Nathan heads back home to Nashville, US, on sunday. There lots more to be done. Editing stuff, adding acoustics, keys, electric guitars, string sections. I've still got to do all my vocals - and we also have 4 more tracks to record. We've got another producer lined up to do those which will be exciting. So it's been a great start. Nathan has done a fantastic job with the band. (Check out the photo of him). I'm excited about where things are heading. I'll keep you all in the loop.

Got home to find my younger brother playing pro-evo 5 on my playstation. I thrashed him twice. A great end to a great week!!
