Love came down

I've just got back from Soul Survivor and Passion For Your Name. Fifteen days of worship, teaching, ministry, rain, sport, gigs, de-caf coffee (I've given up caffeine), muesli (I'm trying to be healthy), pub lunches (less healthy!) and great chats. It's been a really special time. God has done some truly amazing things.
Over the festivals we sang a great song by Ben Cantelon. In the bridge the lyrics say - 'Love came down and rescued me. I thank you.' This for me summed up the theme of Soul Survivor. God's love was so evident throughout our times together and as a result many people were rescued. Over the 15 days we saw around 1,000 people come to faith. It doesn't get better than that. All this often in the context of worship. One night was particularly profound. We were worshipping with abandoned freedom. People were singing out their own melodies and songs. It was one of those divine moments. In the midst of that a call was made for people to become Christians. That night 46 came forward. It was stunning to see. It confirmed to me the truth that as we worship and allow God's Spirit freedom to move, then we will see many come to faith. Conversion is a spiritual encounter.
We also saw many healed, both physically and emotionally. Many envisioned and inspired to live a life for God. I also had the pleasure of spending lots of time with Brother Andrew, a 78 year old man from Holland who spends his days now working in the Middle East sharing the Gospel. I was definitely humbled a few times chatting with him. At one time I asked, 'Isn't it really dangerous visiting these countries?' Straight away he shot me down. 'Tim, it's not dangerous. It's only dangerous when you live outside of God's will for your life.' Good point! One other comment that has stayed with me was that life is about relationship, not results. I sadly often get the two confused.
It's been an amazing time watching God at work. It builds faith, raises expectancy and draws me closer to God.

Wow, sounds fantastic. I loved what you said about allowing Gods spirit the freedom to move, as this is my passion to see people geniunely encounter God face to face through worship. What a fantastic thing to be a part of! Glad your at HTB to bring this freshness and freedom through.
