ASIA DAY SIX
The Alpha Asia conference kicked off with 1,000 delegates from all over Asia. It was exciting to be involved. Alpha continues to grow remarkably changing thousands of people's lives. It's been encouraging to hear some of the stories and testimonies of transformation.
I've been struck by the size of everything here. We've been meeting Pastors who lead churches of over 200,000 people. In Asia there are approximately 3.5 billion people, of which about 500 million are Christians. That means there is a huge mission field (3 billion for our non-mathmaticians). Also about 50% of this group are under the age of 25. You can't help but feel excited and inspired to be here. Something incredible is happening.
It was fun leading worship. Many nations, many languages, many cultures - all unified in One God. It's moment like these when you step back and think, 'this is a wonderful story that we are all part of.'

i was so surprised when Rachel, my good friend, invited me to Alpha Conference I was so surprised when Rachel, my good friend and group leader, invited me to Alpha Conference in Singapore. It was my first time to fly and went to Christian conference..so it was a GREAT experience for me.
"Here i am to worship" is the second song i love to worship God and refresh my soul.It really touch my heart, and i thought a composer would be old and ... :) Even when Rachel told me that we were going to meet the composer of the song...It was so happy to hear. Then i saw you at the conference..well, i had a little bit shock from your appearance ^^
Besides, i am really admired you for writing bunch of songs for God. I really wanted to talk to you to get some fire and ideas for youth alpha course in my country, Viet Nam. Unfortunately, i haven't seen you around but two of my friends met you at conference at took picture with you...=(. However, i hope i can run youth alpha course here. It's so helpful for Vietnamese youth to know more about God.
Please pray for us. Blessing

I was there! And though I was one of the younger participants at the Alpha Conference, I had no idea who our worship leader was until a female friend from church exclaimed, "That's Tim Hughes!!!!" "Who?" I said. : ) Oh ignorant me. And to think we sing "Here I am to Worship" all the time at church. Sorry Tim, but I've never seen such cool Brit Christians in my life. I have had colleagues from UK but whenever I brought up the subject of God, they gave me strange looks.
Anyway, I was dragging my feet to go the Alpha Conference but I am soooo happy I went. God really knows best when He prompts you to do something. I was inspired and refreshed and I learnt new things. Like when Al spoke about Patorates, I realised that I really need to do something about serving. Otherwise going to church will just be going through the motions and there will be no stretching of my faith. Also seeing you guys so passionate for God really reminded me that there are other young people in this world who experience the same almighty and loving God as me. Thanks to all of you for making the Alpha Conference such an eye-opener for me, and thank God for making me go. : )
