ASIA DAY EIGHT

We had a great night of worship with 5,000 worshipers in Singapore. Planet Shakers kicked the night off. They're a great group of guys from Australia. Passionate about God and passionate about His Church. It's always fun hanging out with them.

We then led a set of worship. It is so exciting to gather with others to worship God. It's something that will never get boring. People seemed really up for it here - many who attended were worship leaders and musicians, hungry to be trained. Al then spoke and we were able to pray for a whole bunch of people.

We're definitely starting to feel tired now - but buzzing from all that we're seeing God doing. The other highlight of the day was meeting a friend from India. He was talking about the importance of worship. He had this cool phrase - worship is refreshing, releasing and restoring. Whilst man's words can distract, worship of the true Living God will breathe life and change people forever.

Let us know if you were at the event - we'd love to hear from you.

I was invited by a friend and attended the session on Thursday. I was apprehensive as it had been a long time since I last worshiped despite being a Christian; I did not feel ready for it all. Neither did I know about Planetshakers or Worship Central but I thought I'll go since I do like rock music and bands.

The music was great and both bands were simply awesome. However, I was determined not to let go and let God... until you started worshiping. When you sang of Jesus on the cross... It felt like I was brought before Jesus on the cross... and it was beyond what words could describe.

Just wanted you to know that the songs were great but the deepest impression I had was that they were sung with your heart of worship towards God, that stirred something deep within me, to awaken the heart that had been created and intended to worship God.

Thanks!

Hey Tim!

I was there on the 2nd night. It was my first time I seen you do live worship and it indeed, we were led by an amazing man who has been called by our great and mighty god.

The worship was awesome, the presence of GOD was definitely in max pavilion. I was really blessed and empowered by that time of worship. I like your style of worship too. It was something unique and refreshing. Something I love to learn and use in cell, ministry!

With that said, please do come back Tim (and the worship central gang)! Hope to attend the teaching sessions the next round. God protect you guys as you travel around!

Take care, god bless!

Hey Tim, I was at the night of Worship on Friday as well as the Worshipcentral Conference.. you and Al really blessed me and my friends and fellow ministry members. Your sound was refreshing (as some of us dubbed it, 'Brit' style) and it really breathed new life into songs done many times over. I also love your new rendition of Beautiful One, You Are Everything and Al's Because Of Your Love. Continue to be a blessing to others brother, and may God grow your ministry wider and family closer!

Ian:

i was there at faith methodist today!
was really awesome worshiping along with you guys and really refreshing, cos we're usually so caught up playing for worship on Sunday or preparing for something else that we rarely have time to really just worship Him in abandon like we did today.

I've got a little something on worship that I heard at a worship seminar that i went for a few years ago. the speaker said that worship was a human DECISION that brings about God's DELIVERANCE and DOMINION.

He talked a lot about how our worship should be influencing our situations in church and that our situations in church shouldn't be affecting our worship. And you guys completely echoed that with the thermometer worshiper and thermostat worshiper. there were so many things that i remembered from that seminar that resounded today in the workshops and talks. And it's always great to be reminded of these things, and also see them in a new light.

I'm also a part of a team in the Methodist Church that helps equip worship teams to serve in their churches and schools. and there were so many take-backs from this that we can use in our trainings as well.

Truly, you guys have been a great blessing to us here in Singapore, and we're so encouraged! Do come back sometime soon!

This is unlike many popular artiste whose live performance is not as nice as their cd. Way to go ! A really meaningful time spent with god

Kudos

Alvin:

Hi Tim

Thanks for the wonderful equipping time we had with you at Worshipcentral and helping to usher in God's presence through the time of worship from Thu through Sat. You taught me that leading worship isn't about who writes the songs but getting people to worship even if it means using other people's songs to lead. Your heart for true worship of God and equipping shone through brightly indeed.

Thanks also for your patience in posing for photos and autographing my book (sorry, groupie habit). The photo now takes pride of place next to my photo with Jeff Deyo. 2 famous worship leaders down, dozens more to go! Haha!

I would love to hear more the training project you and Al are working on. I am sure it will be helpful in mentoring and guiding out teams. Would love to chip in anyway I can.

Thanks also for helping to link worship leaders, pastors and bands up in Singapore. Think there's not enough of that networking going on.

Anyway, I still stand behind my offer of tea at my church when you next come around to Singapore.
And I really did love Shackles with the 29th Chapter! I did, really! haha. We need more unity in worship.

Alvin from Singapore

Esther, Weiqin:

Hey (uncle) Tim! :)

I was there at the Singapore Expo hall with my church friends on the first night and with my secondary classmates on the second night.

Is was such a rare opportunity for my classmates to finally come together and worship as one body. :)

Last night God showed me the lady with the issue of blood who touched Him in Mark 5, and revealed to me that so many christians coming together to worship is just not what we should want. But true worship is to make ourselves discoverable, switch on our "bluetooth" and not just be in a group called christianity, but to capture His attention so that He can show up.

:)

Jordan de Laune:

That's a fair amount of people!

I'm guessing you still sing the songs in English? I would just find that kinda weird. Like me singing Happy Day in French. I suppose a lot of people know English over there which makes it less weird.

I suppose you could roughly tie it in with singing in tongue's. You don't have a clue what you are singing but it's likely you are more 'connected' to God than other times when you are singing in English and know what you are saying. I know it's slightly different because it's words from your spirit rather than from a screen, but it does make you think about the significant of words in worship.

Don't get me wrong lyrics in songs help us put our thoughts into more elegant expressions of praise and exaltation. But there is more to worship than words. Hmm I'm not quite sure where I am going with this so I will stop here lol.

It would be interesting to hear from someone who went to the event who's primary language isn't English and their thoughts on the matter? I suppose it depends on how good your English is. For me if I was trying to sing a song in say French I would get distracted by the whole 'translation' process in my mind, which would inhibit my ability to worship 'in truth'.

Who knows? lol

Alvin:

Hi Tim,

I followed my relatives along to the celebration last night and it was wonderful.

I'm sad to say I hadn't heard about you until last night but it was a good introduction. I love your songs, I find them easy to sing along to and your music strikes a chord somewhere that is hard to explain.

Thank you for coming down and come back soon!

ying:

Last night worship was a WOW^-^ Praise and glory to our awesome god! And really thank god for bringing you team and planet shakers to Singapore. Hope to see you guys again!

A small testimony to share. In the day when I was at school I felt really sick. I was feverish and had migraine, it was terrible! I was worried if I could make it for the concert. By God's grace he led me and my churchmates there. Before the start of the worship my head was still spinning. So during the worship, I prayed "Lord please take my pain away". And he did! =)

God is amazing always! May he continue to give you strength and rest that you need! And bless your ministry abundantly! Amen =D

jan:

To say the night was fantastic and unreal would be an understatement! Thank you so much for remembering SEA and especially Singapore. It is worship bands like yours that has been an incredible impetus in reigniting the passion of/for worship in the young people in Singapore - you should've seen the number of kids in school uniforms at the event! - thank you for your heart to equip+build them up!

Also, you may be blessed to know that there was a team of about 10 worship leaders and musicians from Cambodia, who were invited to Singapore over the weekend and were at the event. Thank you for giving them the opportunity to experience worship the way they would never (or rather, not yet) be able to in their country. Attending a worship conference of this stature was a first for most of them. Now they will return to their country next Thursday with a fresh revelation of what worship is and can be! Thanks heaps Tim+band!

We hope you will be back!
